TROY - Firefighters responded to a house fire Monday night behind the Martha Lloyd property in Troy off U.S. Route 6..
Troy Fire Chief Roy Vargson said he was "leaning toward electrical" for the cause of the fire at the two-story home. The call was received at 7:55 p.m.
"The inside of the house is destroyed," he said.
According to Vargson, firefighters had the fire under control in around an hour.

U.S. Rep. Chris Carney toured the CraftMaster Manufacturing Inc., plant in Wysox Township Monday, where a federally-funded $1.35 million upgrade to make the plant more energy efficient is expected to reduce the plant's annual electricity bills by over $250,000.
"This is exactly what we ought to be doing as a country," Carney said about the upgrade, when speaking to television, radio and newspaper reporters after touring the plant.

TOWANDA - The Towanda Area School District on Monday became the first school district in Bradford County to sign up to participate in the county's newly created Community Workforce Inmate Program, which allows non-violent inmates to work on community service projects throughout the county.
The Towanda Area School Board voted 7-1 Monday to have the Towanda Area School District participate in the Community Workforce Inmate Program.

CANTON - Borough council president Ken Robertson on Monday said concerns expressed about the 911 address renumbering issue in Canton Borough will be taken "under advisement."
At Monday's meeting, several people spoke on the matter during the public comment period, which was attended by about 25 visitors and lasted approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
"We'll take this meeting under advisement; we do have other issues we have to get to this evening," Robertson told the crowd, which filled the borough council chambers.

The driver of an oversize vehicle has been issued more than $15,000 in traffic citations after his vehicle struck a bridge and traffic signal Sunday in Bradford County, state police said Monday.
The driver, Arthur H. Dawes, 64, of Blossburg, is accused of driving an oversize load Sunday evening that struck utility lines along state Route 409 in southeastern Bradford County, police said.
The vehicle then traveled west on U.S. Route 6 and struck a traffic signal in Wysox without stopping, according to a complaint filed with the state police.

A winter storm watch will be in effect for the area including Bradford County from this evening through late Wednesday night in anticipation of a snow storm that could dump 6-7 inches of snow on the area.
While the forecast for today is dry and sunny, clouds will increase later in the day, according to Erik Heden, meteorologist at the National Weather Service (NWS) Binghamton station. The snow will start around midnight tonight and isn't expected to stop until early Wednesday evening, he said, with the heaviest snow falling early Wednesday through the afternoon.
