These items and more - much more - were part of the annual Chinese auction Saturday at the LeRaysville Fire Department's Labor Day Celebration.
You could also find a Sony entertainment system, an electric automated hammer, a birdbath fountain, a wireless indoor/outdoor speaker, a stuffed unicorn and an American flag. And that was just the tip of the card table.
Deb Peterman, an employee at the Sullivan County High School and an Emergency Medical Technician for the fire department in Laporte, announced last week that a block party and parade for Aaron Kelly will take place on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, in downtown Laporte, Pa.
According to Peterman, the event is a joint effort amongst the community, and Kelly, who will be departing for Nashville, Tenn. following his visit, will be appearing at the event to sign autographs, participate in the parade, talk about his future plans, and hopefully sing a song or two.

The Rev. Carroll Brentlinger's living a long, healthy life. And Saturday afternoon, the retired pastor from Allis Hollow celebrated as he turned 90 years old.
Family members held an open house in the Rome Curves/Allis Hollow Equipment Annex building along Route 467, with guests enjoying refreshments, a video of pictures, music, photos and a program honoring their friend.

There will be a brief service of remembrance at the J. E. Hallett Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 of the Waverly Barton Fire District on Saturday, Sept. 11. The service will honor and remember all the victims of the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001 including fire service personnel, law enforcement, civilians, and families of all who were lost in the attack on the World Trade Center, in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Va. and the crash-site in Shanksville, Pa.
