Pumpkin Carving Contest planned
"Go back 20, 30 years in the bar business and Halloween used to be huge," says Christine Weaver, chef/owner of the Whistle Stop Restaurant & Saloon in Dushore. Hoping to bring back some of that holiday charm, the staff has planned its inaugural Great Pumpkin Carving Contest. Care to win one of three coveted trophies? Carve your pumpkin at home and bring it to the Whistle Stop on Tuesday night (October 30). Judging will be from 7 to 10 p.m. You have to be 21 to enter. If carving isn't your thing, stop by on Halloween to see all the pumpkins lit up and displayed outside the restaurant!
