Road sections anticipated to be open late Friday night

It is anticipated that two closed sections of road in Bradford and Wyoming counties will be re-opened to traffic late Friday night.

A press release from PennDOT indicated that road repairs continue along Spring Hill Road in Tuscarora Township, Bradford County, and Second Street in Laceyville, Wyoming County.

PennDOT reported Thursday that road sections would be closed following a mineral oil spill for about a mile along the center lane of traffic. The mineral oil was being transported on a truck, and was intended for a local gas well owned by Chesapeake Energy. Mineral oil is used as part of the well drilling process.

The contractor anticipates being able to reopen the road to traffic late tonight, PennDOT reported. Once the road is reopened, the detour will be lifted.

Final paving is being scheduled for Monday.
