TOWANDA -- At the end of a hearing in Towanda District Court today, Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company Chief Donald Stranger Sr., 61, was found guilty of the summary offense of disorderly conduct. Stranger, who lives in Monroeton, was sentenced to pay $189, which includes a fine and court costs.

Dale Douglas Stranger, 36, of Powell, who is the assistant chief of the fire company, pled guilty in Towanda District Court today to disorderly conduct as a third-degree misdemeanor. Under a plea agreement, the Commonwealth withdrew a lesser charge – the summary offense of disorderly conduct – that had been filed against Dale Stranger.

Dale Stranger was sentenced by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to pay a fine and court costs, which together total up to $258.50.

The charges against Dale and Donald Stranger stem from their actions at a fire on Jan. 31 at Dale Stranger’s home.
