Ambrusch resigns as Bradford County's emergency management coordinator
John Ambrusch III has resigned as Bradford County's emergency management coordinator to take a position outside the county, the Bradford County commissioners said.
"Effective Feb. 15, I will be voluntarily resigning my office as the county's emergency management coordinator to advance in my career as I take over Disaster Services management for 14 counties in central Pennsylvania with the Red Cross in Harrisburg," Ambrusch said in a press release that he issued on Tuesday.
Ambrusch "has done a great job for the county," Bradford County Commissioner Daryl Miller said. "We thank him for his service to the county."
Ambrusch was hired as the coordinator of Bradford County Emergency Management Agency in August 2011.
To fill a position such as emergency management coordinator, the county normally first advertises internally, and then, if no successful candidate is found, it is advertised externally, Miller said."
"We'll be looking at filling the position in the coming months," Bradford County Commissioner Mark Smith said.
