Apple Cheese Art Show still accepting entries

The Fine Art and Photography Show of the Pennsylvania Apple 'n Cheese Festival is still accepting entries.

Sept. 17 is the closing date for mailing the applications. Applications and information may be obtained on the paapplecheese.com web site or by calling (570) 673-3137.

The artwork and photographs need to be delivered to the Historic Manley-Bohlayer Farm from 11-5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 or from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26.

There are categories for adults; teens aged 13 through 19, and children under 13. All are encouraged to enter whether a novice or a professional. Participants may sell their works if they choose, there is no commission taken.

The works must have a wire across the back for hanging and be no larger than 36' by 36". Each entry may not have been shown in the Apple Cheese Show previously and must have been created within the past two years. The paapplecheese.com site has complete guidelines. Fees are: adults - first entry $6, second entry is $2; teens - first entry $2, second entry is $1; youth - first entry $1, second entry is $.50.

Each year there are so many excellent entries! The show organizers attempt to acknowledge as many artists and photographers as possible and thanks to the generosity of numerous local sponsors, many awards can be given. These sponsors are proud to support the arts in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
