Bonanza restaurant closed for business
WYSOX TOWNSHIP - Four Friends Development Inc., which owns the Comfort Inn in Wysox Township, is purchasing a building next to it that houses the Bonanza restaurant.
The restaurant, which was recently shuttered, has a "closed" sign on its front door.
Four Friends Development has a verbal agreement to purchase the Bonanza restaurant building from its current owners, Steve and Darcey Bidlack, said Larry Fulmer, president of Four Friends Development.
Attorneys for the Bidlacks and Four Friends are currently reviewing the paperwork for the sale, Fulmer said.
"(The restaurant) has been for sale for two years," Steve Bidlack said. "Larry Fulmer made an offer, so we sold it (to Four Friends Development)."
Four Friends has not decided how the building will be used after it buys the property, Fulmer said.
However, Four Friends will not operate the building as a restaurant, he said.
It's possible that the building will be converted to hotel rooms, although it's not known yet whether the hotel rooms would become part of the Comfort Inn or whether the hotel rooms would exist as a separate business, Fulmer said.
It's also possible that Four Friends would lease the building to someone else, he said.
"We haven't thought about exactly what we'll do with it," he said.
Bidlack said that he and his wife have owned the Bonanza building for five years. The building, which is 5,743 square feet, was constructed in 1993.
