Boy Scout Troop holds successful food drive
Boy Scout Troop 36 had a very successful food and bottle/can drive on March 16. The troop gathered over 100 pounds of canned goods for the Lounsberry food pantry. A large number of cans and bottles were also collected and the money from this will go towards camping and other activities the troop is involved with. The troop thanks the community of Nichols, Barton and Tioga Center for making the drive a success.
The troop would also thanks the following business and organizations for their monetary donations: Nichols Masonic Lodge, Nichols American Legion, Tioga Downs, Nichols True Value, Nichols Dandy Mini Mart, Best Buy and the Owego Elks.
The next troop fundraiser will be a barbecue pork dinner on April 13 at the Masonic Lodge in Nichols starting at 4 p.m. A rummage sale is planned for Saturday, June 1 at Ransom Park in Tioga Center. The troop is currently taking donations. If you have clean, gently used items you would like to donate, contact Lisa Fredenburg at (607) 687-3173, or Cathy Lanning at (607) 972-6369.
