The president of the new Burlington Motor Park was encouraged by the organization's first-ever event this weekend at the motor park.

Floyd Isbell said it went well and he and other organizers are already planning next year's tractor and truck pull event.

"We had more tractors than most fairs have," he commented.

The brand-new park is located eight miles from Towanda and 11 miles east of Troy, along Route 6, by the Chesapeake water withdrawal site. It includes a very large track.

This year, the schedule included pulling tractors, garden tractor pulls and four-by-four pulling, and a Tuff Truck Competition. There were also several vendors, including a number of food vendors.

The Saturday events had good turn-outs, he noted.

However, Friday night got rained out and the Tuff Truck competition Sunday was low due to a competing event in the Binghamton, N.Y. area, he said.
