Andrew Harris and Michael Kolb of Williamsport, Investment Advisor Representatives with ING Financial Partners, attended the Advisor Insight conference Jan. 29-31, 2014 in Las Vegas. This annual conference hosted by ING Financial Partners gathered more than 1,100 financial professionals from across the country. ING Financial Partners, a leading broker-dealer with a focus on helping advance the retirement readiness and financial security needs of Americans, is part of ING U.S., Inc. (NYSE: VOYA) which will rebrand as Voya Financial, Inc. in 2014.

"Advisor Insight is a great time to introduce new tools and resources that help financial advisors and their clients meet one of the most daunting challenges facing America today - retirement readiness," said Tom Halloran, president of ING Financial Partners. "We're particularly excited to introduce new features on a retirement income program to guide financial advisors and clients as they navigate Social Security decisions. With ING U.S.'s vision to be America's Retirement Company, financial advisors play a key role in helping Americans better save and prepare for retirement."

The conference delivered guidance on financial planning techniques and client relationships. Programs focused on navigating Social Security distribution options, retirement income investment solutions and leveraging social media, as well as running efficient businesses so financial professionals can spend more time on what matters most - their clients. Helping clients - one by one - reach an emotional and economic state to feel secure about retirement was the ultimate goal and backdrop for Advisor Insight.

The ING U.S. Women's Advisory Network gathered together female financial advisors during the conference. Established in 2005, this network supports the needs of ING Financial Partners' female financial advisors with ongoing training, mentorship, networking, educational activities and events. Women in the financial planning industry are poised for success and increased prominence. According to industry estimates (2011 U.S. Department of Labor and Cerulli Associates data), only 22 to 30 percent of financial advisors are women. This underscores promising growth potential for more women to enter the industry.
