Chesapeake Energy has provided the funding needed to complete the historic preservation and restoration of the second floor Rotating Exhibit Room in the Sayre Historical Society Museum located at 103 South Lehigh Avenue, Sayre.

The new exhibit room will be located on the second floor south end of the museum. The purpose of the Rotating Exhibit Gallery is to provide an ever changing view of the history of Sayre. When completed, this gallery will be used to feature different themes compiled from the numerous local history and railroad artifacts, photos and documents generously donated to the society over the years by local residents and others with ties to Sayre's rich history.

Funding to date had been secured from the Allen Pierce Foundation, Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau Room Tax Grant, as well as the generous donations from members of Sayre Historical Society through the annual Membership Building Fund Drive. This most recent generous donation by Chesapeake will allow the next important phase in the museum's ongoing restoration program to move forward. The planned completion of the Rotating Exhibit Gallery is early fall of 2012. The Sayre Historical Society is a recipient of the Bradford County United Way.
