New 2U Consignment/Craft Shop has only been open a few days, but according to owner Roxie Vanderpool, things are already flying off the shelves.

Located at 512 Main Street, just a couple doors down from the red light, the new business welcomed its first customers on Thursday. Inside you'll find a wide variety of clothes, shoes and accessories - for instance, a girls' Hollister shirt hangs on the end of a rack, tiny pink sneakers rest on a shelf and lots and lots of denim jeans are sorted by size.

There's also much-in-demand baby furniture. A man said he had a crib, to which Roxie asked if she could have it that day!

Toward the back of the well-organized store, a display of country-themed crafts is all created by Bonnie Alderman. There's a selection of primitives, featuring stars in navy blue, green and burgundy hues, as well as other country-themed items.

Cheerful and Friendly, as Roxie gave a tour she said she thought with the economy the way it is, there was a need for people to be able to get some cheaper clothing. Adding that people often have things they'd like to get rid of, and this gives them a chance to make a little extra money too.

The new shop is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
