An Athens tattoo parlor left ravaged by flood waters three weeks ago has opened at a new location in Sayre.

As a result of Tropical Storm Lee, Electric Zombie Tattoo and Piercing was left under six feet of water, said the owner, known by his employees and loyal customers as "Skully." The damage left the South Elmira Street shop unusable and destroyed nearly everything inside it, Skully said.

Skully and his employees were able to enter the building and examine the damage on the Sunday after the flooding occurred. That day, Skully decided that with the existing location facing extensive repairs, he'd have to find a new location.

On Monday, he found the perfect place - an empty storefront on Desmond Street in Sayre.

Employees spent the next few days replacing equipment, setting up a waiting area and brightening the walls with murals. One of them, located behind the front desk, depicts "the lost city of Athens" - an underwater neighborhood inhabited by zombies.

More remodeling needs to be done at the new location, Skully said, but staff are taking appointments for tattoos and piercings. Walk-ins are also welcome.

"We think it's a good location," Skully said of the parlor's new home, which will likely become permanent.
