Michele V. Strohl, a licensed psychologist in the Bethlehem area, recently opened an office in Athens as she prepares to relocate to the area.

Strohl's office, located at 511 S. Elmira St. near the rear entrance to Citizens and Northern Bank, will be open on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays while she transitions between the two towns. Strohl will continue to add days and will eventually practice in Athens full-time once she closes her Bethlehem office, she said.

Strohl, who is originally from the area, said she is moving back to be closer to her family, including parents John and Shirley Strohl and sisters Penny Brown and Valerie Raupers, who were present at a grand opening celebration Monday.

Strohl has worked in counseling services since 1981 and has had a private practice since 1995, she said. She uses several therapeutic approaches in her work and designs treatment plans to meet the specific needs of each patient, she said.

Strohl said she has experience in individual, couples and family therapy for children, adolescents and adults, dealing with a variety of areas. For an appointment or for more information, Strohl's office can be reached at (570) 886-2368.
