Canton man dies after motor vehicle accident The Rev. David B. Morris was pronounced dead at Robert Packer Hospital
The Rev. David B. Morris of Canton died Wednesday evening, following a motor vehicle accident earlier that day in Tioga County, Pa., the Bradford County coroner confirmed.
Morris is a retired pastor from the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) in Canton, Bradford County Coroner Thomas Carman confirmed.
The accident occurred at 8:02 a.m., when Morris was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Prizm in Charleston Township, state police said.
Morris was stopped at a stop sign on Cherry Flats Road at the intersection with U.S. Route 6, police said.
At the time, a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Melissa S. Geiser of Millerton was traveling east on Route 6, police said.
Morris pulled out in front of Geiser's vehicle, police said.
The front of the Chevrolet Cavalier struck Morris' vehicle, state police at Mansfield said.
Morris was flown by emergency medical helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Carman said.
Morris was pronounced dead at the hospital at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday, he said.
Morris, 70, failed to yield the right of way to Geiser, state police said.
Both Morris and Geiser were wearing seat belts, state police said.
Morris died of hemodynamic instability from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries as a result of the motor vehicle accident, Carman said.
The 41-year-old Geiser, who suffered a moderate injury, was transported to Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, state police said.
