Claude R. Gray, 82, of Milan, Pa., went home to be with his wife and daughter Thursday, May 10, 2012.

Claude was born June 10, 1929.

He served as manager of the Valley Creamery in South Waverly, Pa., for 25 years and subsequently with Leprino Foods for a brief period. Claude was an avid bowler for many years and was a member of several area bowling leagues. He also served as sponsor for Gray's Trucking softball team.

Claude will be remembered as a dedicated Yankee baseball and Penn State football fan. He enjoyed working in his yard and building projects.

He is survived by his children Terry (Lois) Gray of Rome, Eugene (Joni) Gray of East Smithfield, Rodney (Terry) Gray of Waverly, Joanne (Donald) Barrett of South Waverly and Linda (Kenneth) Humphrey of Waverly; his grandchildren Ryan (Bonnie) Gray of Rome, Mindy (Robert) Glantz of Wysox, Tara (Scott) Repsher of Rome, John (Jessica) Copeland of Syracuse, Shannon (Jesse) Mansfield of Jacksonville, Fla., Stacy (Wayne) Sinsabaugh of Athens, Kristi Gray (Brandon Wright) of Sayre, Donnie (Christy) Barrett of Athens, Marlene Barrett of South Waverly and Cody Marchese of Waverly; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his best friend, Snowball, his cat.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Frances May Henry Gray, on Nov. 27, 2009; infant daughter Connie Jean Gray on April 11, 1950; sister Pauline and brothers George and Bill.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre, Pa., with Rev. Robert Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday and from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
