Columbia Cross Roads resident honored
The L. Marilyn Taylor Memorial Award is given each year to a second year student in the respiratory therapy program at Robert Packer Hospital.
Felicia Spencer of Columbia Cross Roads is this year's recipient of the honor, given for a high degree of professionalism in the pursuit of clinical excellence.
Marilyn Taylor was a 1971 graduate of the respiratory therapy program and a supervisor in the Respiratory Therapy department and clinical instructor in the School when she passed away in 1988 as a result of complications of breast cancer.
Larry Vosburgh, Respiratory Therapy Program Director, said Felicia was a logical choice for the award. "The student receiving this award has demonstrated the highest level of motivation, excellent professional conduct, a positive attitude in response to constructive criticism, and exceptional rapport with patients. Felicia Spencer, and those who have received this award annually since 1989, have exhibited the professional values and compassion that made Marilyn such an exceptional therapist, supervisor, and clinical instructor."
