Commissioners to meet today with Governor Corbett

Deductions for post-production costs will be the main topic of discussion

Bradford County commissioners Doug McLinko and Daryl Miller said they will be meeting today in Harrisburg for a half-hour with Gov. Tom Corbett.

The commissioners said they had requested the meeting, which will take place in the governor's office in the Capitol building.

The main topic of discussion at the meeting will be the issue of deductions that some gas companies are taking out of residents' royalty checks for post-production costs, McLinko said.

The governor is very concerned about the effects of the post-production costs and is "very, very interested" in hearing more about the matter, McLinko said.

In addition, the commissioners will be discussing economic activity in Bradford County with the governor, including a company that is considering locating a large facility in Bradford County that would be manufacture equipment that would be used to liquefy natural gas, Miller said.

The commissioners want to discuss what incentives the state might be able to use to convince the company to locate the facility in Bradford County, Miller said.

Miller declined to name the company at this time.
