Several municipalities throughout Bradford County are applying for a total of $857,277 in Community Development Block Grants for various projects in 2010.
However, according to information provided by the Bradford County commissioners Thursday at the 2010 Community Development Block Grant meeting, the county anticipates it will only receive an estimated $287,000 from the state next year for the CDBG program.
According to information provided by Robyn D'Anna, CDBG/housing rehab coordinator for Bradford County, the following municipalities placed their requests Thursday to fund specific projects through the CDBG program:
- Canton Borough, $73,180, for Canton Memorial Park.
- Asylum Township, $15,600, to remove architectural barriers at the Asylum Township Building.
- West Burlington Township, $100,000, for water and sewer laterals at the Bradford County Library.
- Towanda Township, $624,097, for a sewage treatment facility for Woodside Drive.
- Towanda Township, $15,000, for housing rehabilitation.
- Bradford County Housing Rehabilitation Program (county-wide), $30,000 for housing rehabilitation.
D'Anna explained that the commissioners will determine how much money each community will get after Pennsylvania provides them with the dollar amount the county will be receiving for the CDBG program.
