Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program:

Mark Dalsanto, 48, Wilkes-Barre, charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol in October 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of nine months. While in the ARD Program, Dalsanto must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Benjamin Bigus of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Dalsanto for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Burlington Township.

Courtney L. Cook, 22, Athens, charged with Furnishing Alcohol Beverage to Minors in October 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 18 months. While in the ARD program, Cook must perform community service. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Cook for the offense.

Lisa M. Benjamin, 40, Wysox, charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in October 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Benjamin must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer David Lantz of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Benjamin for the offense.

Edward D. Fromm, 32, Granville Summit, charged with Terroristic Threats and Simple Assault in November 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of nine months. While in the ARD Program, Fromm must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Fromm for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Granville.

Matthew B. Kellum, 33, Pittsburgh, charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol in October 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Kellum must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Trooper Bryan Fedor of the Pennsylvania State Police Department arrested Kellum for the offense following investigation of traffic incident that occurred in Bradford County.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following person was sentenced on Feb. 22, 23, 2010, after having been found guilty by a jury at criminal trial in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas;

Todd Lynn Watkins, 44, Sayre, was convicted of resisting arrest at a jury trial before Judge Jeffrey Smith.

Judge Smith set sentencing for April 8, 2010. The conviction carries a maximum of 24 months. Watkins was arrested following an incident in Sayre on Oct. 30, 2010 where he refused to leave a home after he was served with a protective order issued by Judge Maureen Beirne. Watkins refused to comply, and was placed under arrest. County Sheriff Steve Evans, Chief Deputy CJ. Walters, Deputies James Hart and Donald Stringham were able to handcuff Watkins and take him into custody after a struggle and use of pepper spray. Sayre Police officers Sean Flynn and Eric Kier also participated in the arrest.

Edward Scott Johnson, 38, of Athens was convicted of Driving under the Influence of alcohol at a jury trial before Judge Jeffrey Smith. Joshua faces a sentence of up to five years for the offense. He will be sentenced on April 19, 2010, he will receive a drivers license suspension of 12 months, which will be added to a 12 month suspension imposed for refusing testing when arrested. Officer Sgt. James Shaw of the Athens Township Police arrested Johnson on Aug. 19, 2009, in Athens Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following person entered a plea of Nolo Contendere in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Thomas P. Heasley, 20, Towanda, entered a plea of nolo contendere to Theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Heasley will be sentenced on April 22, 2010, following preparation of pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Heasley faces a maximum sentence of up to two years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Randy Epler of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Heasley for the offense in December 2009. A plea of Nolo Contendere has the same legal effect as a guilty plea. A defendant entering a nolo contendere plea, while not admitting to the specific facts of the offense(s) alleged, concedes that he/she would probably not be able to overcome evidence of his guilt offered by the Commonwealth at criminal trial.

Brandon Wood, 23, of Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to simple assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree; and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Wood will be sentenced on May 3, 2010, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Wood faces a maximum sentence of up to five years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wood for the offenses in December 2009, following investigation of an assault that occurred in Monroe Borough.

Bryant Engle, 20, of Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Engle will be sentenced on April 22, 2010, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Engle faces a maximum sentence of up to six months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Randy Epler of the Towanda Borough Police arrested Engle for the offense in September 2009.

Aaron Lagier, 36, of Hammondsport, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to harassment, a summary offense. Lagier will be sentenced on May 3, 2010, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Lagier faces a maximum sentence of up to 90 days plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Bryan Fedor of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lagier for the offense in October 2009 following investigation of an assault that occurred in Springfield Township.

Scott Hudson Jr., 20, of Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Hudson will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Hudson faces a maximum sentence of up to one year plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least six months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Deputy Nathan Ross of the Bradford County Sheriff's Office arrested Hudson for the offense in December 2009 after taking Hudson into custody on an arrest warrant in Towanda Borough.

Daniel Hood, 34, of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to corruption of minors, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Hood will be sentenced on May 3, 2010, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Hood faces a maximum sentence of up to five years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hood for the offense in November 2009, following investigation of a computer contact of a sexual nature that occurred in Canton Township.

District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.

Brian Johnson Jr., 19, of Athens, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of one year, and fine of $200, for receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at night, each a misdemeanor of the third degree. The sentence was imposed following earlier guilty pleas to the offenses. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Johnson for the offense in October 2009. While on probation, Johnson will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Wendall Ayers., 32, of Granville Summit, Pa., was resentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one month to 18 months, and fine of $100, for simple assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. The sentence followed the revocation of Ayers' original sentence of Restrictive Intermediate Punishment (RIP); Ayers was removed from the RIP program because of violations of program conditions. Trooper Peter Shiposh of the Pennsylvania State Police Department arrested Ayers for the offense in December 2009 after an incident in Granville Township. Ayers may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Donald Pazunas Jr., 19, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a total term of 18 months, and total fine of $200, for theft from a motor vehicle, and loitering and prowling at night, each a misdemeanor of the third degree. The sentence was imposed following earlier guilty pleas to the offenses. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Pazunas for the offense in October 2009. While on probation, Pazunas will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Jesse Dillman, 35, of Rome, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to 23 months, 29 days, and fine of $750, for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, each a misdemeanor. The sentence was imposed following earlier guilty pleas to the offenses. Corporal Roger Stipcak of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Dillman for the offenses in October 2009 after an incident in Athens Township. Dillman may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Anthony Bates, 20, of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from six months to 12 months, probation for a term of 16 months, and a total fine of $750, for burglary, a felony of the first degree, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree. The sentence was imposed following earlier guilty pleas to the offenses. Trooper Michael Beirne of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bates for the offense in October 2009 after an incident in Smithfield Township. Bates may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. The sentence imposed was made consecutive to previously imposed sentences making a total sentence of six months, 55 days, to 24 months followed by probation for a term of 18 months.

Jonathan Hartford, 23, of Sayre, Pa., was resentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from three months to 12 months, and fine of $150, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hartford for the offense in February 2008 after an incident in Canton Borough. Hartford may eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. The sentence imposed was made consecutive to the sentence previously imposed for burglary for a total sentence of 21 months to 60 months.

Jonathan Hartford, 23, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 18 months to 48 months, and fine of $500, for burglary, a felony of the first degree. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Chief Larry Hurley of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Hartford for the offense in December 2009. Hartford may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. Hartford's sentence was made consecutive to the sentence previously imposed for possession of drug paraphernalia for a total sentence of 21 months to 60 months.

Michael Barravage, 52, Gillett, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 48 hours to six months, and fine of $500, for driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Barravage for the offense in October 2009 after an incident in Ridgebury Township. Barravage may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Louis Dastalfo, 73, of Shunk, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 16 months to five years, and fine of $1,000, for indecent exposure, a misdemeanor of the first degree. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Officer Brian Wibirt of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Dastalfo for the offense in June 2009. Dastalfo may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.

Christina Cole, 28, of Canton, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and fine of $300, for possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Cole for the offense in February 2009 after an incident in Columbia Township. While on probation, Cole will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.
