Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons entered pleas of guilty on July 19 and 20, in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Kevin A. Parkhurst, 24, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to delivery of a controlled substance (vicodin), a felony. Parkhurst will be sentenced on August 23, 2010, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Parkhurst faces a maximum sentence of up to five years plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least six months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. An agent of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Parkhurst for the offense in February 2010 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Tuscarora Township.

Jonathan Mowry, 31, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Mowry will be sentenced on August 17, 2010, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing Mowry faces a maximum sentence of up to 60 months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, loss of Pennsylvania driving privilege for at least 12 months, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mowry for the offense in January 2010 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township.

David Wilson, 36, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to harassment, a summary offense, and was immediately sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 11 days. Officer Steven Vanderpool of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Wilson for the offense in November 2009.

Dale A. Talada, 49, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to harassment, a summary offense. Talada will be sentenced on August 17, 2010, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing Talada faces a maximum sentence of up to 90 days plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police arrested Talada for the offense in January 2010.

Robert Hodge II, 20, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Hodge will be sentenced on Aug. 17, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. At sentencing, Hodge faces a maximum sentence of up to six months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Steven Scoble of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hodge for the offense in July 2009 following investigation of a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Ridgebury Township. Hodge had originally been placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program for the offense but he was dropped from the program for violation of ARD conditions.

Merle S. Cole, 24, Millerton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to resisting arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and harassment, a summary offense. At sentencing, Cole faces a maximum sentence of up to 27 months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Cole for the offense in March 2010 following investigation of an incident that occurred in South Creek Township.

Arnold E. Rumsey, 56, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree. At sentencing, Rumsey faces a maximum sentence of up to 24 months plus fine(s), costs, restitution to victims, and any other conditions deemed appropriate by the sentencing court. Trooper Andrew Burian of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Rumsey for the offense in July 2010 following investigation of a reported theft of electric service from Tri-County Electric Cooperative in South Creek Township.

Samuel J. Kirchner III, Fort Worth, Texas, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for a term of 18 months with house arrest under electronic monitoring for up to 90 days followed by probation, and a fine of $500, for criminal attempt to commit flight to avoid apprehension, trial, or punishment, a felony of the third degree. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Officer Derrick Kelley of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Kirchner for the offense in March 2010. While on County Intermediate Punishment, Kirchner will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Edward H. Grace, 37, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for a term of 48 months with 90 days incarceration followed by house arrest under electronic monitoring for 160 days and probation, and a total fine of $3,000, for two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, each count a misdemeanor of the first degree. Grace will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 36 months. The sentences were imposed following earlier guilty pleas. Officer Daniel Thomas of the Athens Township Police Department and Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Grace for the offenses in December 2009 and March 2010, respectively, after incidents in Athens and Ridgebury Townships. While on County Intermediate Punishment, Grace will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Todd E. Vandyke, 22, Ulster, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 15 months, and a fine of $500, for theft by unlawful taking a misdemeanor of the first degree. Vandyke was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,360. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vandyke for the offense in September 2009 after an incident in Asylum Township. While on probation, Vandyke will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Charles D. Vanzile, 40, Troy, Pa., was sentenced to a total term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 12 months to 60 months for two counts of statutory sexual assault, each a felony of the second degree. The sentences were imposed following earlier guilty pleas. Trooper James Kerrick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vandyke for the offenses in February 2010 after investigation of incidents that occurred in Columbia Township. Vanzile may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.

Lisa M. Myers, 40, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and a fine of $250, for delivery of a controlled substance (norco tablets), a felony. Myers was also ordered to reimburse the Commonwealth in the amount of $200 for money used to buy the controlled substance from her during the event leading to her arrest, and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. An agent of the Bradford County Drug Task Force arrested Myers for the offense in December 2009 after an incident in Sayre Borough. While on probation, Myers will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Stephanie M. Coolbaugh, 29, Troy, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 60 days to 23 months, 29 days, and a fine of $400, for flight to avoid appearing as a witness and harassment, each a misdemeanor of the third degree. The sentences were imposed following earlier pleas of nolo contendere. Officer Floyd McDonald of the Troy Borough Police Department and Trooper Thad Warnick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Coolbaugh for the offenses in January 2009 after incidents that occurred in Troy Borough. Coolbaugh may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, she will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Robert W. Devine, 47, Monroeton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from six months to 12 months, and a fine of $250, for obstruction of administration of justice, a misdemeanor of the second degree. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Devine for the offense in December 2009 after an incident in Wysox Township. Devine may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Dustin M. Chilson, 19, New Albany, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 72 hours to six months, and a fine of $500, for driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Chilson will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Chilson was originally placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program for the offense but he was dropped from the program for violation of ARD conditions. Trooper Joseph Pericci of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Chilson for the offense in November 2008 after an incident in New Albany Township. Chilson may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

John P. Vanderpool Jr., 25, Wyalusing, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and a fine of $300, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vanderpool for the offense in November 2009 after an incident in Towanda Borough. While on probation, Vanderpool will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Thomas J. Coupe Jr., 21, of Elmira, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 11 months, 29 days, to 23 months, 29 days, and a fine of $500, for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a felony of the third degree. Coupe will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Coupe for the offense in March 2010. Coupe may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Rodney T. Russell, 46, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a total term of 12 months and 90 days, and a total fine of $400, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and harassment, a summary offense. The sentences were imposed following earlier guilty pleas. Trooper Jamie Lopez of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Russell for the offenses in November 2009 after an incident in Towanda Borough. While on probation, Russell will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Timothy W. Fabyan, 19, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from six months to 18 months, probation for a term of 12 months, and a total fine of $500, for two counts of simple assault, each a misdemeanor of the second degree. The sentences were imposed following earlier guilty pleas. Trooper Joseph Mitchell of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Fabyan for the offense in February 2010 after an incident in Towanda Township. Fabyan may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, and while serving the sentence of probation, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Shannon L. Boos, 39, Wyalusing, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a total term of 24 months, and a total fine of $1,000, for theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor of the third degree. The sentences were imposed following earlier guilty pleas. Troopers David Pelachick and Joseph Mitchell of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Boos for the offenses in April 2010 and November 2009, respectively, after incidents in Wyalusing Township. While on probation, Boos will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Jamie Lynn Swick, 30, Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution, Muncy, Pa., was resentenced to a term of imprisonment of from 15 years to 30 years for two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, each a felony of the first degree. Swick will be returned to the State Correctional Institution, Muncy, Pa., to serve the sentence. Swick's resentencing followed her appeal to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania from an earlier sentence of 17 and one-half years to 35 years imposed for the involuntary deviate sexual intercourse offenses and a related count of corruption of minors, a misdemeanor of the first degree. In her appeal, Swick argued that the count of corruption of minors should have merged with the counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse for purpose of sentence computation and that, therefore, the original sentence should have been for a term of imprisonment of less than the 17 and one-half years to 35 years originally ordered. The Superior Court agreed with Swick and ordered that her case be returned to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas for resentencing. Trooper Peter Shiposh of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Swick for the offense in 2008. Swick may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, she will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.

Gregory Golovko, 27, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months, and a fine of $750, for driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Golovko will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. The sentence was imposed following an earlier guilty plea. Officer Steven Vanderpool of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Golovko for the offense in November 2009. Golovko may be eligible for parole after serving the minimum sentence, and, if paroled, he will be subject to supervision and monitoring by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Gail M. Gibbons, 48, Elmira, N.Y., charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in February 2010, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Gibbons must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a victim impact panel; she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Department arrested Gibbons for the offense.

Samantha Jo Woodhouse, 20, Jonestown, Pa., charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in November 2009, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation under the supervision of the Bradford County Probation Department for a term of 12 months. While in the ARD Program, Woodhouse must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 90 days. Trooper Joseph Mitchell of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Woodhouse for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Standing Stone Township.
