Wyalusing woman arrested for DUI
Angel Blauvelt, 39, of Wyalusing was recently arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, police said.
State police said they pulled over Blauvelt for a traffic violation at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township.
During the traffic stop, there was a strong odor of alcohol around Blauvelt, state police at Towanda said.
A DUI charge will be filed against Blauvelt pending the result of a blood test, which was conducted to determine the amount of alcohol in her blood, police said.
Minor injury occurs in Cherry Twp. crash
Mark E. Aspenwall, 47, of Elmira, N.Y., suffered a minor injury in a recent motor vehicle accident in Cherry Township, police said.
Aspenwall was driving south on U.S. Route 220 at 12:25 p.m. Friday when his 1997 Nissan Pathfinder experienced mechanical problems with regards to its steering/suspension, police said.
The vehicle struck a guard rail off the east berm of the roadway, state police at Laporte said.
Man charged with DUI in Towanda
Lance Alan Goddard of Ponca City, Okla. has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol after he was observed driving erratically on Main Street in Towanda Borough. police said.
The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 10, and a test showed that the amount of alcohol in Goddard's blood at the time was above the legal limit, police said.
Besides DUI, Goddard was charged with several traffic violations, Towanda police said.
Goddard, 43, was also charged with providing false identification to law enforcement officers because he provided police with a false Social Security number, police said.
Goddard is scheduled to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Feb. 24.
