Criminal mischief reported in Smithfield Township

Aaron Michael Kenyon, 18, of Wyalusing is facing citations for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident occurring at around 11:45 p.m. on April 17 on Jenkins Road in Smithfield Township, according to state police at Towanda.

Kenyon is accused of smashing a mailbox belonging to Kenneth Michael Blasz, 51, of Columbia Cross Roads, and then standing in the road and laughing, police said.

Citations have been filed at District Court 42-3-01, police said.

Thefts reported

Sometime between 10 p.m. on April 17 and 6 a.m. on April 18, vehicles belonging to Katie Rambus, 34, of New Albany; Steve Miller Jr., 31, of New Albany; Crystal Franklin, 37, of Wyalusing; Joan Grover, 41, of New Albany; and Tara Arnold, 26, of Wyalusing were entered into while parked in their driveways, and numerous items stolen, state police at Towanda said.

The thefts occurred in New Albany Borough, Albany Township and Terry Township, police said, and the stolen property included a small amount of U.S. currency, a wooden rocking chair and ottoman, and a folding buck knife, police said.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda.

Columbia Cross Roads man faces DUI charges

Nicholas Michael Ayers, 27, of Columbia Cross Roads faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance and other traffic violations in connection with an incident occurring at around 10:23 p.m. on April 17 on U.S. Route 6 in Troy Borough, state police at Towanda said.

Ayers was observed operating a vehicle and was taken into custody on the charges, police said.

Theft in Davidson Township

Sometime between midnight on April 5 and 2 p.m. on April 18, someone stole three outdoor chairs and two pink flamingo outdoor decorations belonging to Susane McClane, 56, of Ambler, Pa., from a seasonal residence on Peck Road in Davidson Township in Sullivan County, according to state police at Laporte.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Laporte at (570) 946-4610.

Burglary in Wyalusing

Elvin Baez, 30, of Wyalusing has been charged with burglary, harassment and criminal mischief in connection with an incident occurring at around 9 p.m. on April 17 in Wyalusing Borough, state police at Towanda said.

Baez allegedly entered a residence belonging to Beth Kaczar, 28, of Wyalusing, at 106 Gaylord St. in Wyalusing, through a kitchen window, police said.

Baez is accused of confronting Kaczar and a 17-year-old male, then fighting with the 17-year-old in Kazcar’s yard before both the 17-year-old and Baez fled the scene.

The 17-year-old was allegedly seen driving a white Saturn and Baez was allegedly a passenger in a black Chevrolet Cobalt, police said. It is alleged that the 17-year-old purposely struck the vehicle Baez was in, with the vehicle he was operating, police said, in the area of U.S. Route 6 and state Route 706 in Wyalusing Borough.

Charges are pending against the 17-year-old, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda, (570) 265-2186, and ask for Trooper Ben Bigus, police said.
