Criminal mischief reported

State police at Towanda said someone did "donuts" in the ball field of New Albany Elementary School sometime between 5 p.m. Oct. 19 and 5 a.m. Oct. 20 in Albany Township.

Theft reported

A 49-year-old Laceyville woman told state police at Towanda that someone entered her vehicle, removed her purse and fled in an unknown direction sometime between 2:45 a.m. and 2:55 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Dandy Mini Mart parking lot on Route 6 in Wyalusing Township.

Police said the purse is brown leather with butterflies on it and is well worn. It contains a well-worn brown leather wallet and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. An investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Garbage deposited

State police at Laporte said April Westbrook, 26, of Mildred, deposited two bags of garbage without permission into the dumpster of the Birch Creek Tavern around 7 a.m. Oct. 23 in Mildred.

The victim was Vera Greiser, 47, of Mildred, police said.

Hunting blind stolen

Curtis Slocum, 21, of Towanda, told state police at Towanda that someone stole a hunting blind from a wooded area sometime between Oct. 19-25 on private land off Lynch Road in Burlington Township.

Man charged

State police at Towanda said Mark Dalsanto, 48, of Wilkes-Barre, was charged with DUI: General Impairment and a lane violation following an incident at 8:34 p.m. Oct. 25 on Route 6 in West Burlington Township.

Police said Dalsanto was observed driving a Ford pickup truck and swerved into the oncoming lane of travel. He was under the influence of alcohol and could not operate the vehicle safely and additional charges are pending, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186 and ask for Trooper Ben Bigus.

Horses struck

A 59-year-old woman told state police at Towanda that someone shot her horses with paintballs sometime between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 22 on Wilkes Road off Ayers Road in South Creek Township.

Police said the horses were struck three times, but weren't injured. Police said charges are pending.

Accident reported

State police at Towanda said a one-vehicle, non-reportable crash occurred at 8:14 p.m. Oct. 22 on Springfield Road in Columbia Township.

Police said someone driving a 1980 Chevrolet Chevette was driving west and struck a deer that entered the westbound lane of travel from the north side of the road. After the impact, the vehicle continued west coming to rest on the south shoulder facing west.
