Assault occurs in Wysox Twp.
Isaac L. Strope, 58, of New Milford, Pa., has been charged with simple assault in connection with an incident at the Jackson trailer park in Wysox Township, police said.
Strope is accused of striking a 31-year-old Rome man about the face, causing a broken nose, split lip, and various chest scratches, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday, according to the state police at Towanda.
Bicycle stolen in Towanda Twp.
Someone recently stole a blue Old English bicycle that was located at the New Bucket Inn at the intersection of Liberty Corners Road and Railroad Street in Towanda Township, police said. The bicycle belongs to a 39-year-old woman, police said. The theft occurred sometime between noon and 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

Criminal mischief occurs in Monroe Twp.
State police said they are trying to determine who flipped over a swing located in the back yard of 55-year-old woman's residence in Monroe Township.
This case of criminal mischief occurred at 10 p.m. Saturday along Bouse Road, state police said.

Man arrested
State police at Towanda said Anthony Bates, 19, of RR2 Columbia Crossroads, was jailed after he fled as he was being taken into custody on Oct. 29.
Police said he unlawfully entered a residence on Ringler Road near his home and stole $30 sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Oct. 29.
Around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 1 on Maple Lane in Smithfield Township, when questioned regarding the burglary, he admitted the crime and was placed under arrest, police said.
Police said that as he was being taken into custody, he ran away from state police and into the woods and fled south from Maple Lane; the area was searched by multiple patrol units from state police at Towanda and a state police aviation unit helicopter. Around 2:30 p.m., he was apprehended by state police at his residence. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy and placed in the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
