DWI in Waverly

Brian Lee Charlton, 62, of Lockwood, N.Y., was arrested for misdemeanor DWI and misdemeanor DWI with a BAC greater than .08 percent at 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 11, according to Waverly police.

Charlton was arrested following a traffic stop on Lincoln Street in Waverly, police said, and was also cited for failing to signal a turn.

He is scheduled to answer the charges at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the Village of Waverly Justice Court, police said.

Barton woman charged with larceny

Lynette Rose Ford, 25, of Barton, N.Y., was arrested at 8:22 p.m. on Nov. 11 for felony grand larceny in the third degree and falsifying business records in the second degree, a misdemeanor, following investigation into a report of fraud at a local restaurant, according to the Waverly Police Department.

Ford is accused of stealing approximately $14,000 from the business, police said, and was employed at the restaurant as a bartender.

She is accused of playing Quick Draw games without paying for the tickets, police said, over a three-month time period beginning in August. She is also alleged to have intentionally omitted her winnings, causing the restaurant's register to be short of money and then funds had to taken from another account to cover the amount, police said, adding that those omissions prevented the business records from being accurate.

Ford was arraigned on Nov. 11 in Village of Waverly Justice Court and released to await further court action, police said.

The Waverly Police Department said they were assisted in the investigation by New York State Lottery officials.

BB gun fired at home

State police at Towanda said they are investigating an incident of criminal mischief which occurred between Nov. 1 and 8 on North Rome Road in Rome Township.

Police said that someone fired a BB gun at the residence of a 53-year-old man, creating holes in the vinyl siding. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186 or 1-800-4-PA-TIPS.

Theft in Wilmot Twp.

At around 11 a.m. on Nov. 16, someone stole a purse belonging to a 74-year-old woman from the bedroom of a home on Kisner Road in Wilmot Twp., according to state police at Towanda. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda.

Harassing phone call

A 16-year-old Athens female juvenile reported to state police at Towanda that she has received an anonymous harassing phone call on her cell phone, according to police. The harassment occurred at around 3 p.m. on Nov. 9, police said.

Wilmot Twp. man charged with simple assault

Levi Foux, 28, of Wilmot Twp., faces charges of simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident that occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 8, according to state police at Towanda.

Foux is accused of striking a 26-year-old woman, no age or address given, about the face several times with a closed fist during a domestic dispute, police said.
