Johnson City man arrested on warrant

James A. Fenstemacher, 21, of Johnson City, N.Y., was arrested on a bench warrant in regards to a previous charge of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child that occurred in the Village of Waverly N.Y., according to Waverly police.

Police said he was arrested on the bench warrant by the Endicott N.Y. Police Department on Nov. 18 and then released to Waverly police.

He was arraigned in the Town of Barton, N.Y. Justice Court on Nov. 18 and remanded to the Tioga County, Owego, N.Y. jail to await further court action, police said; bail was set at $1,000.

Waverly woman arrested on warrant

Shannon M. Burlingame, 32, of Waverly, was arrested on Nov. 18 in Endicott, N.Y., according to Waverly Police, on a warrant that had been issued by the Village of Waverly, N.Y. Justice Court in regards to recent charges accusing her of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminal possessing a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors.

She was arraigned in the Town of Barton, N.Y. Justice Court on Nov. 18 and was sent to the Tioga County, Owego, N.Y. Jail to await further court action, police said, and bail was set at $1,000.

Waverly man faces harassment charges

Daniel A. Miller, 24, of Waverly, N.Y., was arrested on Nov. 18 for misdemeanor aggravated assault in the first degree, according to Waverly police.

Miller is accused of sending numerous threatening text messages to a victim during the last three months; and is also accused of leaving a threatening note to the victim on Nov. 18 at a Waverly residence, causing alarm to the person, police said.

Miller was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Village of Waverly Justice Court on Nov. 24 to answer the charges.

Boldness must arise locally to save roads

It's nearly spring and the secondary roads here are in poor shape. Some of the main roads, as well. It's an annual occurrence. But, this year there is a dramatic difference. More roads are in far worse shape than perhaps ever before, in large part becau
