BB gun used in Camptown incident

A 31-year-old Wyalusing woman reported that someone shot her window with a BB gun, police said.

The incident occurred between 8 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 8 along Water Street in the Camptown area, state police at Towanda said.

Trail camera stolen in Columbia Twp.

Someone recently stole a trail camera that had been placed in the woods behind the residence of a 67-year-old Columbia Cross Roads man, police said.

The camera, which the man had used to capture photos of wild game in the woods, was stolen sometime between 4 p.m. on Nov. 13 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 17, state police said. The camera is a Game Spy D-4 model, police said.

Burglary at motel in North Towanda

A burglary occurred recently at the Maple Lodge Motel in North Towanda Township, state police said.

A burglar or burglars forcibly entered the motel through a rear window sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

Once inside, the burglar or burglars rummaged through three rooms and stole three pairs of Timberland boots and $10 in quarters, according to the state police at Towanda.

Two charged with harassment in Wells Twp.

Amy Harvey, 24, and Scott Evert, 39, both of Gillett, were charged with harassment following a recent altercation, police said.

Harvey was also charged with criminal mischief for damaging property that belongs to Evert, state police said.

The incident occurred at 6:25 p.m. on Nov. 14 at a location on Bird Creek Road in Wells Township, according to the state police at Towanda.

Vehicle hits tree in Ridgebury Twp.

Judina M. Stevens, 74, of Gillett suffered a minor injury recently when she was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Ridgebury Township, police said.

Stevens was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am south on Randall Road when it left the right side of the roadway and struck a mailbox and a tree, state police said.

Stevens was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, which occurred Thursday, state police at Towanda said.

Vehicle strikes deer in Warren Twp.

Lisa R. Merritt, 32, of LeRaysville was uninjured in a recent accident in Warren Township in which the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt she was driving struck a deer, police said.

The accident occurred at 6:24 a.m. on Nov. 11 on LeRaysville Road, 443 feet north of Gulf Road, state police at Towanda said.

Vehicle strikes tree in Colley Twp.

Robert A. Crawford, 79, of Tunkhannock was driving a 2002 Toyota Corolla south on state Route 87 in Colley Township recently when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the roadway and struck a tree, police said.

Crawford suffered a minor injury in the crash, which occurred at 8:15 a.m. Nov. 15, state police at Laporte said.

Harassment occurs in Wyalusing Twp.

A 67-year-old Wyalusing woman was the victim in a recent case of harassment, state police said.

The woman reported that someone contacted her phone company and had a long distance plan added to her statement, which resulted in additional fees on her bill, police said.

The incident occurred on Sept. 15, according to the state police at Towanda.

Teen injured in crash

A 16-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries recently when he was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving west on U.S. Route 6 in Standing Stone Township, police said.

For unknown reasons, the teenager lost control of the 1996 Chevrolet Lumina sedan he was driving at the intersection with River Road, and the vehicle struck a sign and a guardrail, police said.

The accident occurred at 8 a.m. on Nov. 15, police said.

State police did not release the name of the teenager, due to his age.

Monroe Twp. man to be charged with harassment

Sean Weldy of Monroe Township is accused of shoving a 40-year-old man to the ground, after which Weldy punched him in the back of the head, police said.

Weldy, 37, will be charged with harassment as a result of this incident, police said. The incident occurred at approximately 6:54 p.m. Sunday in Monroe Township, state police at Towanda said.

Boats stolen in Terry Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who stole two flat-bottom aluminum boats in Terry Township.

One of the boats, which is 14 feet long, is green, while the other, which is 8 feet long, is silver-colored, state police said.

The boats were stolen sometime between 10 a.m. on Nov. 18 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 22 from a pond along state Route 2010, which is owned by a 33-year-old Terry Township man, state police said.

No further information was provided by the victim, state police said.

Charges to be filed

State police at Towanda said Stephen Martin, 27, of the Bradford County Correctional Facility, is accused of trying to stab a 24-year-old male inmate at the Bradford County Correctional Facility around 8 p.m. Nov. 24 at the prison in West Burlington Township.

Police said he used a makeshift shank made out of a toothbrush in the yard area. No one was injured.

Police said charges will be filed.

Woman injured

State police at Towanda said Shannon N. Chilson, 22, of Canton, had a minor injury in a vehicle accident at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 23 on Route 414 in LeRoy Township.

Police said she lost control of her Chevrolet Cavalier for unknown reasons, which spun out of control off the road and into ditch and rolled over. Police said traffic citations are pending.

Male cited

State police at Towanda said a 14-year-old Milan male was cited with retail theft for placing two cans of Skoal chewing tobacco in his hooded sweatshirt pocket while inside the Dandy Mini Mart at 2:15 p.m. Nov. 13 in Smithfield Township.

Woman faces hearing

State police at Laporte said Valerie M. Land, 27, no address given, faces a preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 before Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Y. Vandine in Laporte for reportedly assaulting a family member during a domestic argument around 2 p.m. Nov. 21 along Dutch Mountain Road in Cherry Township, Sullivan County.

The family member had minor injuries and was not treated. Land was arrested at her residence, arraigned by Vandine and placed in Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Theft reported

State police at Towanda said someone took a six-lug GMC hub cap from a GMC 1500 pick-up Nov. 4 near the BiLo in Troy Township.

Police said the victim is a male from Towanda.

Ladder taken

State police at Towanda said someone removed a 16-foot aluminum step ladder from outside a residence sometime between Oct. 9-21 near Junior's Towing Services in East Troy.

Gas taken

State police at Towanda said someone drove off without paying for $20 in gas from the Wyalusing Dandy Mart at 10 p.m. Nov. 22 in Wyalusing.

Items taken

A 36-year-old Monroeton man told state police at Towanda that someone took U.S. currency and prescription medication from his vehicle sometime between 11 p.m. Nov. 14 and 8 a.m. Nov. 15 on Manley Lane in Monroe Borough.

Theft reported

State police at Towanda said someone took a piece of plastic pipe from a PennDOT job site sometime between around 3 p.m. Nov. 13 and noon Nov. 16 on State Route 2017 in Asylum Township.

Police said the pipe was black and 20 feet long and 18 inches in diameter. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Knobs broken

State police at Towanda said someone broke two gear selection knobs on two John Deere tractors owned by T.A.W. Inc. between 6 p.m. Nov. 10 and 7 a.m. Nov. 11 at a gas well site on Popular Road in Wyalusing Township. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Retail theft reported

State police at Towanda said they are investigating a retail theft that occurred at the Dandy Mini Mart sometime between 6:15 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. Nov. 14 on Route 6 in Wyalusing Township.

Police said someone driving a black car of an unknown make and model pumped $20.01 worth of gas and left without paying. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Vehicle strikes handrail

Someone lost control of their vehicle and ran off the road on State Route 487 and into the yard of John Hubiak, no age given, of Lopez, sometime between 6 p.m. and Nov. 8 and 10 a.m. Nov. 9 in Colley Township, Sullivan County, said state police at Laporte.

Police said the vehicle struck a handrail along the sidewalk and knocked the handrail over.

Van strikes deer

State police at Towanda said a van struck a deer while traveling east on State Route 414 at 10 p.m. Nov. 9 in LeRoy Township, about one mile west of the LeRoy General Store. The driver wasn't charged.

Woman cited

State police at Towanda said Linda Nevel, 40, of Pittston, was cited with harassment for continuing to call a 32-year-old Troy woman after being told not to on numerous dates in October and November in Columbia Township.

No one injured

No one was injured in a three-vehicle accident at 3:20 p.m. Nov. 13 on Route 14 in Troy Township, said state police at Towanda.

Drivers involved in the accident were Nicholas M. Nasoni, 18, of Sayre; Ronald R. Correll, 53, of Bernville; and Alyssa N. Millard, 19, of Sayre, said police.

Police said Nasoni and Millard were traveling north in the northbound lane and Correll was stopped in the northbound lane for a vehicle making a left turn. Nasoni failed to stop and struck Correll's vehicle in the rear. Nasoni's vehicle came to rest and Millard swerved to avoid striking Nasoni's vehicle in the rear. Millard's vehicle struck Nasoni's vehicle with the driver's side mirror on the right rear corner, and Millard came to rest on the east side of the road.

Hit and run reported

State police at Towanda said no one was injured in a hit and run crash involving a gas drilling truck at 12:05 p.m. Nov. 13 on State Route 14 in Canton Township.

Police said Gary Max Grubbs, 41, of Grand Prairie, Texas, who will be cited for vehicle code violations, was driving a Mack truck with a silver tanker for Frack Tech Services of Cisco, Texas, which had minor damage. The other vehicle involved in the accident was a 1997 Mitsubishi box truck owned by Judge's Second Hand Store of Canton, which had moderate damage.

Police said Grubbs was traveling northbound, and tried to make a u-turn type of movement to turn back to travel southbound. While making this turn, the right rear of his vehicle's trailer struck the parked box truck and a wooden fence owned by Canton Auto Body Garage, which was damaged.

Police said Grubbs failed to stop on the scene and continued traveling away to the south. The truck was later stopped and the driver and truck were able to identified.

Investigation continuing

State police at Laporte said a known 24-year-old Ardmore, Pa. man initiated unwanted physical contact with a known 18-year-old Stroudsburg woman on multiple occasions sometime between 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Red Rock Job Corps Center on State Route 487 in Colley Township, Sullivan County. An investigation continues.

Fuel taken

State police at Laporte said someone left without paying for fuel at the Pump and Pantry at 3:18 p.m. Nov. 14 on State Route 220 in Dushore, Sullivan County.
