Burglary reported

The Troy Police Department said it continues to investigate a burglary which occurred at Brown's Pharmacy located at 470 Canton St., Troy during the early morning of Nov. 25. Police said several prescription medications were taken after a suspect entered the building by breaking one of the glass door windows. It is inconclusive at this time whether the burglary is linked to the burglary which occurred at Brown's Pharmacy in Canton Borough on Nov. 16; however, investigative efforts are being coordinated between the Troy Police Department and the Canton Police Department in the matter, police said.

Food pantry burglary reported

The Troy Police Department said it continues to investigate a burglary which occurred at the Troy Food Pantry located on Railroad Street, Troy. At an unknown time between Monday, Nov. 23, and Wednesday, Nov. 25, perpetrators entered the pantry, according to police. A package of candy appeared to be taken from inside the building, police said.

Charges pending

Charges are pending against an adult male for retail theft after an investigation where an adult video was taken from Video King on Nov. 23 in Troy, according to the Troy Police Department. The value of the video was reportedly $19.99, police said.

Citation issued

A non-traffic citation was issued to Jay A. Baldwin, 19, of Troy, for underage purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages after a traffic stop on Redington Avenue, Troy, according to the Troy Police Department. Officers discovered an open bottle of liquor in Baldwin's vehicle after observing an equipment violation to his Pontiac coupe, police said.

Crash reported

The Troy Police Department said it responded to a rear-end, two-vehicle crash which occurred on Nov. 25 on Route 14, near 470 Canton St, Troy. Hunter Dibble, no age given, of Canton, operating a 1997 Ford truck, collided with Cynthia Mitstifer, no age given, of Gillett, who was operating a 2008 Toyota sedan, police said. Mitstifer was transported to Troy Community Hospital for treatment and was released. The Toyota required towing due to the collision. Minor damage was found on the Ford. Citations are pending against Dibble for moving violations, police said.

Grill, ladder stolen in Forksville

A stainless steel gas grill and an eight-foot fiberglass ladder were recently stolen from a property in Forksville, police said. The property, where a cabin is located, is owned by Kevin Paul Miller of Lebanon, Pa., police said.

State police said they are trying to determine who committed the thefts, which occurred at approximately noon, between Nov. 8 and Nov. 13, state police said.

DUI arrest occurs in Cherry Twp.

Maranda Jacobs, 19, of Montoursville was recently arrested on suspicion of DUI on U.S. Route 220 in Cherry Township, police said.

At 7:55 a.m. Friday, Jacobs was pulled to the side of the roadway, and she requested assistance after being lost, police said

Upon speaking to Jacobs, police determined that she had been drinking and was under the influence of alcohol, police said.

The incident occurred one-tenth of a mile north of Litzelman Road, police said.

The DUI charge against Jacobs are pending in Laporte District Court, according to the state police at Laporte.

Ulster woman charged with credit card fraud

Stefany Jean Miller of Ulster is accused of removing a credit card from a 49-year-old Towanda woman's purse and then using it to buy gas and cigarettes at the Dandy Mini Mart in Wysox Township, police said.

After receiving the bill for the fraudulent credit card transaction, Miller signed the victim's name on the bill, police said.

The purchases occurred at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Oct. 23, according to the state police at Towanda.

Miller, 22, has been charged with forgery, two counts of access device fraud, two counts of identity theft, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, and receiving stolen property, police said.

Firewood stolen in Smithfield Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who stole three face cords of firewood from a 78-year-old Columbia Cross Roads man.

The theft of the wood, which is valued at $165, occurred sometime between Nov. 4 and Nov. 14 along state Route 4011 in Smithfield Township, police said.

Man charged with harassment

Richard L. Buckingham of Meshoppen recently struck a 48-year-old Towanda man in the face and pushed him onto the ground, police said.

The incident occurred while the two were arguing at approximately 11 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Buckingham's residence, located on Rabbit Hollow Road, according to the state police at Towanda.

Buckingham, 51, has been charged with harassment, state police said.

Vehicle hits deer in Monroe Twp.

Janet Shaffer of Dushore's vehicle had to be towed after it struck a deer that ran out into the roadway in Monroe Township, police said.

Shaffer, 56, was not injured in the crash, which occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Nov. 15 on U.S. Route 220, state police said.
