Windows shot out in Wysox
Someone recently shot the windows out of Schooney's Restaurant on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township, state police at Towanda said.
The crime occurred sometime between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and noon on Sunday, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.
Property damaged in Dushore fight
Antonio Hawley, 20, and Patrick Kelley, 31, both of Dushore, engaged in a fight recently at the Pump-n-Pantry convenience store in Dushore, police said.
A total of $344 in damages to the business' property occurred during the fight, police said.
The incident occurred at 8:37 p.m. on Feb. 13, state police at Laporte said.
Towanda men cited for harassment
John Joseph Lochner, 30, and Jason Michael Thetga, 30, both of Towanda, have been charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, police said.
The two were asked to leave the Our Place Tavern in Monroe Borough and refused, police said. Lochner and Thetga then struck a 45-year-old Monroeton man, state police at Towanda said.
The incident occurred at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, state police said.
Man charged with aggravated assault in Cherry Twp.
Stanley Okolowski, 48, of Mildred, who was involved in a dispute with a 31-year-old Laporte man, struck the Laporte man with his Chevrolet Impala, police said.
Specifically, Okolowski drove the vehicle up an embankment and hit the Laporte man in the leg, causing an injury, police said.
The incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. Sunday along state Route 487, near Connells Dam Road in Cherry Township, state police at Laporte said.
Okolowski was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, police said. Okolowski was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Plummer, police said.
Okolowski was then sent to the Wyoming County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, police said.
Teen charged after knife incident in North Towanda
Nicholas Roland Bartholomew, 19, of Canton is accused of threatening to stab a fellow student in the neck with a pocket knife, police said.
The incident occurred sometime between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 15 at the Northern Tier Career Center in North Towanda Township, police said.
Bartholomew told police that the threat was meant as a joke, according to a criminal complaint filed by the state police against Bartholomew in Towanda District Court.
As a result of this incident, Bartholomew has been charged with terroristic threats, possession of a weapon on school property, simple assault, and harassment, police said.
Bartholomew was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Feb. 15, who set Bartholomew's bail at $2,000.
Bartholomew must appear before Judge Clark today for a preliminary hearing.
Sayre DUI charge
A Sayre man was recently arrested by borough police on a charge of driving under the influence.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Marc Damon Eberlin, 26, was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and following too closely.Police said a vehicle operated by Eberlin failed to stop at a stop sign at North Lehigh Avenue and Mohawk Street. Eberlin's vehicle was also tailgating the one in front of it, police said.
Police performed a traffic stop and said Eberlin appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Eberlin told police he had consumed four drinks prior to driving, police said.
Eberlin's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 20.
Sayre man arrested on warrant
A Sayre man was recently arrested by Tioga County sheriffs on a warrant from the town of Tioga.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Robert L. Knapp II, 40, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to pay a fine from a previous charge of driving while ability impaired.
Police said Knapp was arraigned in Town of Tioga court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $310 bail or 15 days in jail.
Unlicensed driver arrested
A Barton woman was recently arrested by Tioga County sheriffs on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Tiffany R. Welch, 23, was also charged with having an insufficient headlight following a traffic stop on state route 17C in Barton. Police said Welch was issued tickets to appear in Town of Barton court on Feb. 21.
One arrest in Rome DUI crash
Pennsylvania state police at Towanda recently charged a man with driving under the influence following a two-vehicle accident in Rome Township.
According to information from state police, Charles Kithcart, 35, of Rome, was arrested following the Jan. 20 accident.
Police said a 1996 Ford Ranger driven by Kithcart struck a 2006 Jeep Cherokee driven by Becky Vanderveur, 57, no address provided, as the Jeep was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway. Police said Kithcart's vehicle swerved into the northbound lane before pushing the Jeep into a grass area off the northbound shoulder of state route 1055.
Kithcart and Vanderveur both suffered minor injuries, police said. Officers observed signs of impairment while speaking with Kithcart following the accident, police said. Charges against Kithcart were filed in district court, police said.
