Occupants in Monroe accident identified
State police have identified the occupants of the pickup truck that landed on its side during a motor vehicle accident Tuesday on state Route 414 in Monroe Borough.
The accident occurred at 3:40 p.m. when Alfred Barone Jr. of Monroeton lost control of the 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck on the slippery roadway, police said.
Barone, 53, suffered a moderate injury in the crash, police said.
Donna M. Barone, 50, of Monroeton, who was a passenger in the vehicle, suffered a minor injury, police said.
Vehicle lands on roof in Asylum Twp.
Julie L. Robinson, 45, of Wyalusing was the driver in a recent one-vehicle DUI crash in Asylum Township, police said.
While traveling south on Oak Street, Robinson lost control of her 1998 Chevrolet Blazer at the end of a left curve, police said.
The vehicle then struck an embankment on the east side of the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on its roof, state police said.
Robinson, who was wearing a seat belt, was uninjured, police said.
The crash occurred at 4 a.m. on Jan. 17, 574 feet east of Marshview Road, according to the state police at Towanda.
Towanda man arrested for DUI
Terry L. Murray, 44, of Towanda was recently arrested for DUI after police received a complaint that he was driving erratically in North Towanda Township, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday on U.S. Route 220, the state police at Towanda said.
Items stolen from vehicle in Wyalusing
State police said they are trying to determine who stole several items from a black Ford Ranger while it was parked along U.S. Route 6 in Wyalusing Township.
The vehicle is owned by a 22-year-old Wyalusing man, police said.
The theft occurred sometime between Jan. 25 and Jan. 29, police said.
The thief or thieves gained entry to the vehicle by breaking the lock on its rear window, state police said.
Stolen from the vehicle were a Sony CD player, a gray Sony 600-watt amplifier, and two black and yellow 10-inch kicker subs, police said.

Vehicle hits tree in Terry Twp.
No one was injured recently when a vehicle operated by Melissa D. Silfee of New Albany struck a tree in Terry Township, police said.
The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, when the 19-year-old Silfee was driving east on state Route 2011, approximately 340 feet west of Heath Road, police said.
A baby boy that was in the vehicle was uninjured, police said.
Man accused of harassment in Troy Twp.
Jerry L. Winebarger, 50, of Roaring Branch is accused of subjecting a 27-year-old Troy woman to physical contact, police said.
During the same incident, Winebarger threatened to subject a 24-year-old Troy man to physical contact as he chased after him, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:56 p.m. on Jan. 24 at a location on Fallbrook Road in Troy Township, police said.
As a result of this incident, two citations for the summary offense of harassment are pending against Winebarger, state police said.
Hit-and-run crash occurs in West Burlington
A hit-and-run accident recently occurred along U.S. Route 6 in West Burlington Township, police said.
A vehicle, whose driver is unknown, struck a utility wire while it was traveling east on Route 6, police said.
The utility wire then damaged a property owner's fence, police said.
The incident occurred at 11 a.m. Monday, 1,575 feet east of township Route 550, police said.
In a press release about the incident, police did not identify the owner of the fence.
No injuries reported in Wyalusing Twp. crash
State police at Towanda said no one was injured in an accident that occurred at around 3 p.m. on Feb. 2 on U.S. Route 6 in Wyalusing Twp.
The accident occurred as Matthew R. Horton, 18, of Towanda, was driving east on Route 6 and lost control of his vehicle and struck a guiderail with the vehicle's driver side front end, police said.
Police said Horton was charged.
No injuries reported in Ridgebury Twp. crash
No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at around 11:50 a.m. on Jan. 29, according to state police at Towanda.
The accident occurred as Gary W. Lane, 38, of Gillett, was operating a 1997 Dodge Ram on the Berwick Turnpike in Ridgebury Twp., police said. Lane's vehicle traveled off the roadway before striking into a parked vehicle at Furmans Cuts Barber shop, police said. The vehicle then smashed into a sign at the barber shop before coming to final rest.
Lane was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DUI, police said.
Two charged in retail theft
Brianna Leigh Fassett, 19, of Waverly, N.Y. and Lance Adam Johnson, 26, of Newark Valley, N.Y., were each charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy in connection with incidents that occurred at around 10 p.m. on Dec. 21 at Walmart in Athens Township, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
Fassett is accused of conspiring with Johnson to take a Phillips digital picture frame valued at $57 from Walmart, the documents stated. Johnson is accused of conspiring with Fassett to take a Nintendo DS valued at $145 and a Magellan Roadmate valued at $99 from Walmart, according to the documents.
Preliminary hearings have been set for March 2 for both Johnson and Fassett to answer the charges.
DUI in Athens Township
Travis Dean Perry, 20, of Dolores, Col., faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, the purchase, consumption, possession and/or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages by a person less than 21 years of age, driving with an open container and traffic violations in connection with an incident that occurred at around 2:44 a.m. on Jan. 31 on U.S. Route 220 in Athens Township, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
According to an affidavit:
Police initiated a traffic stop after observing the white Ford F-250 that Perry was driving speeding and swerving on Route 220. Police observed an odor of alcohol coming from Perry and two opened bottles of beer in a cup holder in the vehicle.
Perry refused field sobriety tests and chemical tests of blood.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 9 for Perry to answer the charges; bail was set at $25,000.
Disorderly conduct, public drunkenness in Athens Township
Broc Conley Smith, 21, of Dolores, Col., faces charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness in connection with an incident that occurred at around 2:35 a.m. on Jan. 31 on U.S. Route 220 in Athens Township, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
Smith was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic stop, according to the documents; police told him to call for a ride or walk home as his driving privileges were suspended and he was intoxicated.
Smith is accused of screaming, yelling, cursing and threatening behavior and persisting in disorderly conduct after reasonable warning or request to desist, according to the documents.
Athens man charged in assault
Daryl P. Parshall, 39, of Athens, faces charges of simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident that occurred at around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 31 at a residence on South Main Street in Athens Borough, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
Parshall is accused of punching a woman in the left eye, causing injury, and leaving marks on the woman's neck by grabbing her by the throat, the documents stated.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 9 for Parshall to answer the charges.
Sayre man faces drug charges
Kyle W. Potter, 19, of Sayre, faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and purchase, consumption, possession and/or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages by a person less than 21 years of age in connection with an incident that occurred at around 10:28 p.m. on Jan. 30, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
According to an affidavit:
Police were on a complaint on Desmond Street when the owner of 229 Desmond Street yelled to them for help. Police discovered the door of Apartment A, where Potter resides, open and with multiple male and female juveniles inside the apartment holding alcoholic beverages and a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the apartment.
Police observed two marijuana smoking devices, a glass water pipe and a homemade water pipe as well as a baggie containing a substance which later tested positive for marijuana. There were 18 individuals including Potter who were under the influence of alcohol and under the age of 21.
A preliminary hearing has been set for March 2 for Potter to answer the charges.
Sayre man faces drug charges
Kevin Ray Hoose, 19, of Sayre, faces multiple charges, including obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge, possession of a controlled substance, criminal attempt and other charges in connection with incidents that occurred on Dec. 16 and Dec. 26, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
Hoose is accused of using a false name and date of birth to obtain prescriptions for Tylenol No. 3 on Dec. 16 and Dec. 26, the documents stated. Taylor allegedly was able to fill a prescription for five Tylenol No. 3 but was unable to fill another prescription for eight Tylenol No. 3, the documents stated.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Hoose to answer the charges on Feb. 9.
Sayre man charged in assault
Randy Bergman, 42, of Sayre, faces charges of simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident that occurred at around 2:56 a.m. on Jan. 28 at a residence on Tioga Street in Sayre, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
Bergman is accused of throwing a woman to the floor, pulling her hair and hitting the woman in the head with a full beer can, causing injury, the documents stated.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 2 for Bergman to answer the charges.
Sayre woman charged in assault
Lisa F. Durzich, 44, of Sayre, faces charges of simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident that occurred at around 2:56 a.m. Jan. 30 at a residence on South Elmer Avenue in Sayre, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.
Durzich is accused of punching, kicking and scratching a man during a dispute, the documents stated.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 9 for Durzich to answer the charges; bail was set at $10,000.
