Teen charged with forgery in Monroeton
Jessica Lynn Schultz, 18, whose last known address was in Monroeton, is accused of stealing a check belonging to another individual and then forging the check in order to purchase $40 worth of merchandise at the Dandy Mini Mart in Monroeton, police said.
Schultz purchased the items on Oct. 9 or Oct. 10, state police said.
Schultz has been charged with forgery, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, and receiving stolen property, police said.
Schultz was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Jan. 30. Schultz was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Schultz must attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Clark on Wednesday.
Dushore man charged with driving while under influence of meth
William Murray Rowe Jr. of Dushore was recently arrested for driving while under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana, police said.
The arrest occurred after police pulled Rowe over at approximately 11 p.m. on Nov. 5 for driving erratically on U.S. Route 220 in Albany Township, police said.
During the traffic stop, the 63-year-old Rowe took a pill bottle that was in his pocket and threw it onto the passenger's side floor, police said. The pill bottle contained eight marijuana joints, and he was in possession of four other marijuana joints as well, police said.
A test showed that there was methamphetamine and THC, which is the active ingredient of marijuana, in his blood, police said.
Besides the DUI charge, Rowe was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use, state police at Towanda said.
Rowe has been sent a summons which orders him to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Feb. 29.
Athens man accused of theft
Bradley Duane Stroud, 35, of Athens is accused of selling $198 worth of scrap metal that he did not own, police said.
Stroud found the scrap metal on a property he was renting on Covered Bridge Road in Ulster Township, police said.
The metal was on the property before he rented it, and Stroud's landlord did not give Stroud permission to sell the metal, police said.
Between April 15 and July 23, Stroud took the scrap metal to a scrap yard and sold it, police said.
As a result of this incident, Stroud, who lives on Front Street in Athens, has been charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property, police said.
Stroud has been sent a summons which orders him to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on March 7.
