Theft reported from locked vehicle

State police are investigating a theft from a locked vehicle that occurred recently in Cherry Township, Sullivan County.

Police reported that perpetrators removed a small green pocket book owned by Sonya Bligh, 60, of Dushore, from her vehicle as it was parked at the Sullivan Terrace Parking Lot. Police said the theft occurred between 6 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 25.

Anyone with information about the incident is requested to contact the state police at (570) 946-4610.

Burglary reported in Overton Township

A seasonal cabin on Junk Pond Road in Overton Township owned by a 61-year-old Fleetwood, Pa., man was recently broken into, according to state police at Towanda.

Police said the burglary occurred between Jan. 15 and Mar. 1 as unknown actors pried open the front door and rummaged through the cabin.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda.

Athens man charged

James R. Pratt, 31, of Athens, faces charges of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and criminal mischief in connection with an incident that occurred at 204 Bridge Street in Athens Borough at around 10:28 p.m. on Feb. 20, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.

Pratt is accused of attempting to gain entry to a residence at 204 Bridge Street in Athens Borough by kicking the door and pulling on the door while yelling obscenities, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing has been set for March 30 for Pratt to answer the charges.

Athens man charged in assault

Michael John Widrig, 54, of Athens, faces charges of harassment and simple assault in connection with an incident that occurred in Athens Township at around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.

Widrig is accused of pushing an 82-year-old man to the ground, court documents stated. A preliminary hearing has been set for March 30 for Widrig to answer the charges.

Athens man charged in assault

Matthew Tilton Honeycutt, 25, of Athens, faces charges of simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident that occurred at around 5:02 p.m. on Feb. 27 on Wolcott Hollow Road in Athens Township, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.

Honeycutt is accused of pushing a woman into a cabinet during an argument, court documents stated.

A preliminary hearing has been set for March 9 for Honeycutt to answer the charges; bail was set at $25,000.
