Two cited after incident in North Towanda

Daniel Louis Abadie, 20, of Monroeton and a 16-year-old Towanda girl were cited for disorderly conduct after they engaged in a loud, profanity-laden argument, police said.

The incident occurred at 9:25 p.m. Sunday at a location along Summit Road in North Towanda Township, state police at Towanda said.

Man charged with firearms violation in Laporte

A North Carolina man was charged with a firearms violations after a loaded .357 magnum revolver was observed in the cab on his truck, which was in Laporte Township, state police said.

State police at Laporte said they found out about the loaded revolver when they investigated a truck fire involving this truck. The incident occurred at 3:50 p.m. on July 15 along U.S. Route 220, at the intersection of Snyder Road, police said.

Rusty Chane Ollis, 37, of 1700 County Line Road, Kings Mountain, N.C., admitted he owned the handgun, and he failed to produce a license that is required by law, police said.

Ollis was arraigned before Laporte Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Vandine and released on $10,000 unsecured bail, police said.

Lopez winery cited for alcohol violation

Lopez Winery & Vineyard Inc., which is located at 44 Winery Road, in Colley Township, has been cited for serving alcohol to a minor, according to a press release from the state police's Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.

The violation occurred on June 27, the press release said.

The citation was issued on Thursday, the press release said.

Disorderly conduct in Ulster Twp.

Jesse James Young of Towanda was charged with one count of disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred on July 24 on Main Street in Ulster Township, according to state police at Towanda.

Young is accused of yelling and screaming profanity along the roadway, creating a physically offensive situation, police said.

No injuries reported in Ulster Twp. crash

No one was injured in a motor vehicle crash that occurred at around 5:45 p.m. Monday on U.S. Route 220 in Ulster Township, according to state police at Towanda.

The accident occurred as Lauren M. Hotaling, 24, of Monroeton, and Sun K. Learn, 62, of Sayre, were both traveling north on Route 220 in an active construction zone, police said. Police said traffic was at a controlled stop by a flagman, when Learn's vehicle, a 2008 Toyota Camry, came to a hard sudden stop in the northbound lane causing Hotaling's vehicle, a 2006 Honda Civic, to do the same. Hotaling's vehicle was unable to stop before striking the rear of Learn's vehicle.

Hotaling was charged with following too closely while Learn was charged with failing to drive at a safe speed, police said.

Harassment in Sheshequin Twp.

Douglas Pierce, 40, of Waverly, N.Y., has been accused of striking a 25-year-old man about the face during a physical altercation, according to state police at Towanda.

The alleged incident of harassment occurred at around 1:40 a.m. on July 23 on Sheshequin Road in Sheshequin Township, police said.

Disorderly conduct in Pike Township

Dennie Lee Franklin, 38, of Stevensville, has been charged with disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that occurred at around 9:35 p.m. on July 24 on Flanagan Road in Pike Township, according to state police at Towanda.

Franklin is accused of screaming obscenities at state police when they were called to his residence for a disturbance, police said. Police said Franklin was told not to enter his residence after police were informed that weapons were present inside, but persisted to enter the residence. Franklin was then subdued and taken into custody, police said.

Juvenile charged in assault

A juvenile petition was filed recently at Bradford County Probation against a 14-year-old Ulster female, according to state police at Towanda. The juvenile is accused of getting into an argument with a 36-year-old Ulster man and a 36-year-old Ulster woman at around 8:30 p.m. on July 21, police said. The argument escalated to a physical altercation and the 36-year-old woman was punched in the face numerous times and the 36-year-old man was shoved, police said. Both victims sustained injuries, police said.

Sayre woman charged with endangering welfare of children

Rebecca Lynn Amey, 23, of Sayre, faces charges of endangering the welfare of children and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that occurred at around 7:56 p.m. on July 23 in Sayre Borough, according to court documents filed at Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw's office.

Sayre Borough Police responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on Woodworth Street in Sayre Borough, according to court documents. Upon searching the residence, police found two children, ages 3 years and 6 months, alone in the house, court documents stated.

Amey is accused of leaving the children in the residence for four hours, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Aug. 3 for Amey to answer the charges; bail was set at $5,000.
