Towanda teen accused of theft
Ebony Diasha Teeter, 19, of Towanda is accused of stealing prescription pills from a 79-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman in Monroe Township, police said.
The theft occurred sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 10, state police at Towanda said.
Teeter has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, police said.
Athens man cited for harassment
Adam D. Chilson, 29, of Athens is accused of striking a 43-year-old man in the face after they got into an argument, causing a cut, police said.
The incident occurred at 12:34 a.m. Saturday at a location along state Route 187 in Rome Township, according to the state police at Towanda.
As a result of this incident, Chilson has been cited for harassment, police said.
State police issue statistics for Bradford County
The state police at Towanda have released their statistics for January.
Here are the statistics, according to a press release issued by the state police:
During January, the state police at Towanda made 151 criminal arrests and responded to 105 motor vehicle accidents.
A total of 35 people were injured in the accidents, which did not involve any deaths.
Six of the crashes were DUI-related, and 13 were classified as hit-and-run.
During January, the state police at Towanda issued 308 traffic citations and 133 warnings.
Troy woman charged with disorderly conduct
Kandy Ann Lantz, 42, of Troy has been charged with disorderly conduct following a recent incident at the Rite Aid pharmacy in the Bradford Towne Center in Wysox Township, police said.
Sometime between 11:45 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, Lantz confronted a 41-year-old woman in the store and loudly called her obscene names, according to the state police at Towanda.
Man arrested for DUI in Towanda
An out-of-state man was recently arrested for DUI in Towanda, state police said.
State police said they pulled over 59-year-old Clifford Kenneth Hunt of Ackerman, Miss., after observing him commit a traffic violation at 12:37 a.m. Friday on U.S. Route 220.
Upon making contact with Hunt, it was determined that he was driving under the influence, state police at Towanda said.
Hit-and-run crash occurs in Overton
An unknown hit-and-run driver operating a Chrysler vehicle recently struck a fence post on Bahl Road in Overton Township, police said.
The accident occurred sometime between Jan. 30 and Feb. 3, 246 feet east of township Route 346, state police at Towanda said.
State police said they do not know the model of the vehicle.
Waverly woman arrested
A Waverly woman was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of driving under the influence.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Billieleigh Sutton, 41, was also charged with failure to stop at a red traffic signal, driving with a suspended license and careless driving.
Police said a tan 2011 Kia sedan driven by Sutton ran a red light at about 3:25 a.m. Jan. 25 at Lockhart and Elmira streets. Police located and arrested Sutton at the Dandy Mini Mart on Elmira Street, police said.
A drug test revealed the presence of cocaine and opiates in Sutton's system, police said. According to police, a check revealed that Sutton's New York drivers' license is revoked and her Pennsylvania license suspended due to a previous DUI charge.
Sutton's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 13.

Marijuana plants found
A Sayre woman was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriffs on a charge of unlawfully growing cannabis.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Erin J. Roberts, 29, was charged following an investigation into marijuana plants discovered behind a Barton residence in September.
Police said Roberts was issued a ticket to appear in Town of Barton court on Feb. 14.

Waverly burglaries investigated
Waverly village police are investigating two recent burglaries at local businesses.
According to village police information, J&S Motor Repair reported items stolen from its Broad Street building Jan. 28. Police said about 40 new and used batteries, two chainsaws, two two-way radios and a laptop computer were removed from the business. The stolen items are valued at about $1,500, police said.
Police said that Blankenship Service Company reported a burglary to village police Jan. 31. A plasma cutter valued at $1,800 was stolen from the Erie Street business, according to police.

Waverly man arrested
A Waverly man was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of statutory sexual assault.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Jonathan D. Connor, 20, was also charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault involving a person less than 16 years of age, indecent assault involving a person less than 16 years of age, indecent exposure, corruption of minors and distribution of obscene and other sexual materials.
Police said Connor had sexual contact with a 14-year-old female victim in November of 2011 and sent obscene materials to her cellular phone in January 2012.
Connor was arraigned Feb. 3 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. Connor's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 14.

Man charged with retail theft
A Sayre man was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of retail theft.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Brandon Joseph Wright, 27, was also charged with receiving stolen property.
Police said Wright pumped $43.01 worth of gasoline at the Dandy Mini Mart on Wolcott Hollow Road in Greens Landing and left without paying.
Wright was arraigned Feb. 3 by Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Wright's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 7.

Motor vehicle taken
Pennsylvania state police are investigating a claim of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in New Albany Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, a female victim reported to police on Jan. 29 that a person known to her took her vehicle at a location on Wyalusing New Albany Road. The investigation is continuing, police said.

Sexual assaults investigated
Pennsylvania state police at Towanda are currently investigating two statutory sexual assault cases that occurred in 2011.
According to state police information, officers continue to investigate a complaint in South Waverly borough involving a 20-year-old male and a 15-year-old female.
Police said they are also investigating a complaint in Sayre involving a 20-year-old male and a 13-year-old female.

Domestic assault
Pennsylvania state police at Laporte continue to investigate a domestic assault in Elkland Township, Sullivan County.
According to state police information, on Feb. 4 Leonard Lee Kobbe, 23, of Elkland Township pushed the head of a female victim enough that it almost tipped over a nearby refrigerator. Police arrested Kobbe on simple assault and other related charges and was remanded to the Wyoming County Correctional Facility, according to police.

Police search for runaway
Pennsylvania state police are investigating a report of a missing person in Litchfield Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, a 16-year-old female left a residence on Hullett Road between Jan. 31 and Feb. 3 and failed to show at work. The female may be in the Elmira, N.Y. area, police said.

Mail theft in Ridgebury Twp.
Pennsylvania state police are investigating the theft of mail from a mailbox in Ridgebury Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, an unknown actor removed mail from a mailbox in the township sometime between 2:45 p.m. Dec. 26 and 7 a.m. Dec. 27. The actor then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Sayre man charged
A Sayre man was recently charged with corruption of minors by Pennsylvania state police at Towanda.
According to state police information, Joshua Phillips Burlingame, 20, was also charged with indecent assault and intimidation of witnesses or victims.
Police said Burlingame engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a then 15-year-old female victim between May and October of 2011. Police said Burlingame intimidated, or attempted to intimidate, the victim to give false or misleading information relating to the crime to a state police investigator.
Burlingame was arraigned in district court Feb. 6 and released from the Bradford County Jail on $10,000 unsecured bail. Burlingame's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 14.
