Man charged with assault waives hearing

A Towanda man accused of slamming his girlfriend's head in a pickup truck door waived his preliminary hearing recently before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark.

According to information filed in Clark's office, Peter A. Ferrulli, 30, of 101 York Ave., has been charged by Towanda police with simple assault and harassment. Ferrulli is accused of having slammed a door on the head of Donna Esposito on Oct. 29 during a domestic dispute, trapping her head in the door jam. Esposito required surgery at Memorial Hospital following the incident, police reported.

Ferrulli was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton, who ordered the defendant released on non-monetary bail. Ferrulli's case will now be sent to commonwealth court in Bradford County for possible trial.
