Troy man faces drug charges
Michael Charles Porter, 28, of Troy was recently charged with DUI, drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred at 12:43 a.m. Tuesday along Railroad Street in Towanda, police said.
Police said that at that time, they made contact with Porter, who was parked along Railroad Street.
Upon making contact with Porter, drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view and Porter displayed signs of intoxication, police said.
Porter was placed under arrest and then searched, which revealed that he had a container of bath salts in his pocket, state police said.
Towanda woman accused in drug incident
Nicole Mae Decker, 23, of Towanda is accused of being in possession of suspected bath salts at a location along Railroad Street in Towanda, state police said.
The incident occurred at 12:43 a.m. on Tuesday, state police at Towanda said.
Teen charged with making false report to police
On Monday, 18-year-old Daniel Adams of Colley Township made a false report to police, state police said.
On that date, Adams contacted the state police at Laporte and reported that an attempted burglary had occurred at his residence, which is located on Star Road, police said.
Further investigation by the state police revealed that Adams had made a false report to police regarding the attempted burglary, police said.
As a result of this incident, Adams will be charged with false reports to law enforcement authorities and tampering with and fabricating physical evidence, police said.
Sexual assaults investigated
Pennsylvania state police at Towanda are currently investigating two statutory sexual assault cases that occurred in 2011.
According to state police information, officers continue to investigate a complaint in South Waverly borough involving a 20-year-old male and a 15-year-old female.
Police said they are also investigating a complaint in Sayre involving a 20-year-old male and a 13-year-old female.
Domestic assault
Pennsylvania state police at Laporte continue to investigate a domestic assault in Elkland Township, Sullivan County.
According to state police information, on Feb. 4 Leonard Lee Kobbe, 23, of Elkland Township pushed the head of a female victim enough that it almost tipped over a nearby refrigerator. Police arrested Kobbe on simple assault and other related charges and was remanded to the Wyoming County Correctional Facility, according to police.

Police search for runaway
Pennsylvania state police are investigating a report of a missing person in Litchfield Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, a 16-year-old female left a residence on Hullett Road between Jan. 31 and Feb. 3 and failed to show at work. The female may be in the Elmira, N.Y. area, police said.

Mail theft in Ridgebury Twp.
Pennsylvania state police are investigating the theft of mail from a mailbox in Ridgebury Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, an unknown actor removed mail from a mailbox in the township sometime between 2:45 p.m. Dec. 26 and 7 a.m. Dec. 27. The actor then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Sayre man charged
A Sayre man was recently charged with corruption of minors by Pennsylvania state police at Towanda.
According to state police information, Joshua Phillips Burlingame, 20, was also charged with indecent assault and intimidation of witnesses or victims.
Police said Burlingame engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a then 15-year-old female victim between May and October of 2011. Police said Burlingame intimidated, or attempted to intimidate, the victim to give false or misleading information relating to the crime to a state police investigator.
Burlingame was arraigned in district court Feb. 6 and released from the Bradford County Jail on $10,000 unsecured bail. Burlingame's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 14.
