Athens woman faces charges
Sarah Anderson, 29, of Athens faces charges of access device fraud, theft, and receiving stolen property, because she allegedly stole a credit card and $60 cash from the purse of a 68-year-old woman, police said.
Anderson then allegedly made a purchase in the amount of $62.81 with the credit card, police said.
The theft of the credit card and cash occurred sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 1:55 p.m. on June 25 at the Bradford County Manor in West Burlington Township, state police at Towanda said.
Theft occurs in Wysox
Someone recently stole a brown, fiberglass squirrel, approximately five feet tall, from the mini golf course at the Country Cottage, state Route 187, Wysox Township, police said.
The cost of the squirrel is estimated at $700, state police said.
The theft occurred between 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday, state police at Towanda said.
Vehicle strikes store in North Towanda
Ellen A. Shaffer, 82, of Towanda recently struck the CVS store on Hospital Drive in North Towanda Township as she was pulling into a handicapped parking stall in the store's parking lot, police said.
The collision caused moderate damage to the store, state police at Towanda said.
Shaffer claimed she was uninjured in the crash, which occurred at 10:31 a.m. Monday, state police at Towanda said.
State police said that Shaffer told them that she was unsure how the accident happened and that must have hit the gas instead of the brake.
Sayre woman charged with PFA violation
Gina Lynn Geissler, 28, of Sayre recently violated a protection from abuse order by riding in the same vehicle as the protected party, police said.
The incident occurred at 5:17 p.m. Monday on William Street in Towanda, police said.
Geissler was arrested for the PFA violation, state police at Towanda said.
Vandalism occurs Towanda Twp.
State police said they are trying to determine who damaged the letters which attach to the H&R Country Store's illuminated sign, police said.
The vandalism occurred between 2 p.m. on June 23 and 12:30 p.m. on June 24 along U.S. Route 220 in Towanda Township, police said.

The following persons were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Lora K. Thetga, 48, of Towanda, by the state police, on June 27 on Old Plank Road in Towanda Township.
William Bradley Stalford, 47, of Monroeton, by the state police, on May 12 on U.S. Route 220 in Monroe Borough. Stalford was also charged with accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, and careless driving. A blood test showed that Stalford's blood alcohol content was .29 percent on the day of his arrest. Stalford has been sent a summons to appear before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on July 18.
