Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced the following recent Bradford County criminal case resolutions:

Magisterial District Court

Nicholas Mercado-Cummer, 23, Traverse City, MI, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a fine of $500.00, restitution in the amount of $130.00, and court costs. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Mercado-Cummer for the offense.

Darrel Mosier, 26, Rome, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Harassment and was ordered to perform community service and pay court costs. Trooper Steve Steransky of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Mosier for the offense.

Kristie Gehring, 31, Rome, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Harassment and was ordered to perform community service and pay court costs. Trooper Steve Steransky of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gehring for the offense.

Gregg Evans, 25, Athens, PA entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Retail Theft and was ordered to pay a fine of $150.00 and court costs. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Evans for the offense.

John Boone, 19, Wysox, PA entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Harassment and was ordered to pay a fine of $1000.00 and court costs. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Boone for the offense.

Christopher Brown, 32, Athens, PA, entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offenses of Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 20 days and ordered to pay court costs. Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Brown for the offenses.

Lori Barber, 46, Columbia Crossroads, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a fine of $50.00 and court costs. Trooper Christopher Stecik of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Barber for the offense.

Kelvin Zabady, 26, Gillett, PA entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offenses of False Statements to Law Enforcement Authorities and Theft of Services and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional facility for a term of six days and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $22.00 and court costs. Officer Nikki Hoffman of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Zabady for the offenses.

Edward Lichtenfels, III, 21, Towanda, PA, entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offenses of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving Without a License and was ordered to pay a fine of $300.00 and court costs. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Lichtenfels for the offenses.

Levceila May, 19, Athens, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was ordered to pay court costs. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested May for the offense.

Michael Hall, Waverly, NY, entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offenses of Criminal Trespass and Public Drunkenness and was ordered to pay a fine of $300.00 and court costs. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Hall for the offenses.

Lyle Hottle, 36, Nichols, NY, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 10 days and ordered to pay court costs. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Hottle for the offense.

William Fenton Jr., 38, Sayre, PA, entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to two counts of the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 20 days and ordered to pay court costs. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Fenton for the offenses.

Adam Corsi, 27, Elmira, NY, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Illegal Taking of Big Game and was ordered to pay a fine of $1500.00, restitution in the amount of $1600.00, reimbursement in the amount of $2500.00 to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and court costs. Officer Joseph Wenzel of the Pennsylvania Game Commission arrested Corsi for the offense.

Joshua Morse, 20, Elmira, NY, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Illegal Taking of Big Game, a misdemeanor and was ordered to pay a fine of $1500.00, restitution in the amount of $1,600, reimbursement in the amount of $2500.00, and court costs. Officer Joseph Wenzel of the Pennsylvania Game Commission arrested Morse for the offense.

Jeffrey Piatt, 25, Elmira Heights, NY, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Illegal Taking of Big Game and was ordered to pay a fine of $1500.00, restitution in the amount of $1,600, reimbursement to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of $2500.00, and court costs. Officer Joseph Wenzel of the Pennsylvania Game Commission arrested Morse for the offense.

Michael Edward Walter, 50, Wyalusing, PA, entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offenses of Possession of Marihuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was ordered to pay a fine and court costs. Deputy Patrick Butkiewicz of the Bradford County Sheriff's Department arrested Walter for the offense.

Jonathan Hicks, 26, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of seven day and ordered to pay court costs. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Hicks for the offense.

Walter McGuire, 41, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offenses of Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of two days and ordered to pay a fine of $600.00. Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department arrested McGuire for the offense.

Robert Pracht, 44, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Harassment and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of seven days and ordered to pay court costs. Sergeant Daniel Reynolds of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Pracht for the offense.

Secundino Santiago, Columbia Cross Roads, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Harassment and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term equal to time already served in that facility and he was ordered to pay court costs. Trooper Jeffrey Creedon of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Santiago for the offense.

Christopher Casselbury, 22, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment and was ordered to pay a fine of $220.00 and court costs. Trooper Christopher Schelling of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Casselbury for the offense.

John Parker, Jr., 31, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to two counts of the offense of Harassment and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term equal to time already served (10 days) in that facility, and he was ordered to pay court costs. Trooper Tyler Brackman of the Pennsylvania State Police and Chief Randy Epler of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Parker for the offenses.

William O'Connor, 32, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment and was ordered to pay court costs. Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested O'Connor for the offense.

Cody Rosich, 29, Athens, PA, entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Violation of Ignition Interlock Requirement and was ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 and court costs. Trooper Tyler Brackman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Rosich for the offense.

Jess Butler, 34, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offenses of Disorderly Conduct; Public Drunkenness; and Criminal Mischief; and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 17 days; he was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $200.00 and court costs. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Butler for the offenses.

Dennis Bain, 22, Canton, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 30 days and he was ordered to pay court costs. Officer Joshua Heckman of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Bain for the offense.

Brandon Seymour-Baker, 20, Kents, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 30 days and he was ordered to pay court costs. Officer Joshua Heckman of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Seymour-Baker for the offense.

Justin VanBuren, 19, Canton, PA, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities and was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a term of 30 days and he was ordered to pay court costs. Officer Joshua Heckman of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested VanBuren for the offense.

Hila Strope, 46, Wysox, PA, entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Fred Wheaton to the offenses of Criminal Trespass; Theft By Unlawful Taking; Possession of a Controlled Substance; and Harassment; and was ordered to pay a fine of $250.00, restitution in the amount of $55.00, and court costs. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Strope for the offense.

Harry Smith, 41, Athens, PA, entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was sentenced to pay a fine of $100.00 and court costs. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Smith for the offense.

Dana Martin, 35, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty before District Magisterial Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Disorderly Conduct and was ordered to pay a fine of $350.00 and court costs. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Martin for the offense.

Bradford County Court of Common Pleas Criminal Trial

Penny Lynn Sullivan, 46 Rome, PA, was convicted of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a felony, following criminal jury trial before Judge Jeffrey Smith, Specially Presiding. Sullivan will be sentenced on January 9, 2014 following completion of a pre-sentence investigation by the Bradford County Probation Department. An agent of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Sullivan for the offense in May 2013 following an earlier incident involving the sale of Oxycodone in Rome Township.

Sentencing

Blake Dieffenbach, 25 Troy, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 24 months to 96 months, and a fine of $1000.00, for the offense of Aggravated Assault; Dieffenbach was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $93,795.90. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Dieffenbach for the offense.

John C. Boone, 19 Wysox, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from seven months to 18 months to be followed by probation for two years, and fines totaling $400.00, for six counts of the offense of Recklessly Endangering Another Person. Boone was arrested for the offenses by Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Guilty Plea

Michael Vetetoe, 36, Wyalusing, PA, plead guilty to the offense of Disorderly Conduct; he will be sentenced in January 2014. Trooper Mark Sadowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Vetetoe for the offense.
