Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reports that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Andrew Kizale, 24, of Athens, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 134 days to 12 months, and a fine of $1000, he will also lose his driver's license for six months for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Officer Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Kizale for the offense on Feb. 5, 2014.

Mary Roser White, 39, Dushore, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months and a fine of $750; she will also lose her driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer John Hennessey of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested White for the offense in November.

Jose Duran, 37, Elmira, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from six years to 12 years and a fine of $1500 for the offense of Sexual Assault, a felony of the second degree and Indecent Assault, a misdemeanor. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Duran for the offense in 2013. Duran will be a registered sexual offender for life.

Mark Vanhorn, 27, Tioga, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 23 months, 29 days followed by Probation for a term of 27 months and a fine of $1350, for the offense of Hindering Apprehension, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Defiant Trespass, a summary offense and a resentence on Burglary charge, a felony of the second degree. Officer Quentin Reinford of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Vanhorn for the offense on Feb. 22, 2014.

David Northrup, 50, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of two years followed by State Intermediate Punishment for 24 months a fine of $5000; he will also lose his driver's license for 36 months, for the offenses of two counts of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, misdemeanors of the first degree.

Officer Richard Hart of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Northrup for the offense on Aug. 1, 2013. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Northrup following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township on July 22, 2013.

Mason Runyon, 18, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 14 months and 30 days to 42 months, for the offenses of Theft, a felony of the third degree, Theft, a felony of the third degree, Theft a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor. Officer Thomas Wilson of the Sayre Borough Police Department, Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Runyon for the offenses in January and February 2014.

Troy VanDyke, 19, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of 24 months and a fine of $500, for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a felony of the third degree. Sergeant Daniel Reynolds of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested VanDyke for the offense on Feb. 2, 2014.

Jennifer Irons, 29, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 90 days to six months, and a fine of $1500, she will also lose her driver's license for 18 months, an additional license suspension of 18 months will be imposed for refusal to submit to testing when arrested for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Irons for the offense on Dec. 8, 2013.

Phillip Baker, 30, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 48 hours to six months a fine of $750; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Baker for the offense on Sept. 15, 2013.

Heather Shaffer, 28, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of False ID, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Shaffer will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Shaffer for the offense on Feb. 17, 2014.

Daniel Bellows, 27, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Bellows will be sentenced on Aug. 7, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bellows following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Township on April 2, 2014.

Nancy Tucker, 48, Wysox, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Tucker will be sentenced on Aug. 7, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Mark Sadowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Tucker following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township on Dec. 2, 2013.

Justin Vaughn, 25, Berwick, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree, Theft from a Motor Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the third degree, Public Drunkenness, a summary offense. Vaughn will be sentenced on Aug. 7, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Vaughn for the offense on March 18, 2014.

Walter G. Henry, 59, New Albany, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Sexual Assault, a felony of the second degree, Indecent Assault, a felony of the third degree. Henry will be sentenced in September 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department and a report by the Sexual Offender Assessment Board. Trooper Sean Cooney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Henry following investigation of an incident that occurred in Albany Township.

John Fredrick, 49, Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Failure to Register, a felony of the second degree. Fredrick will be sentenced on July 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Frederick following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township in March.

Brandi Jo Bellows, 33, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Hindering Apprehension of Prosecution, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Bellows will be sentenced in July 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Michael Northup of the Troy Borough Police Department arrested Bellows for the offense in Troy Borough in February 2014.

James W. Burlingame, 50, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft by Deception, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Burlingame will be sentenced on Aug. 11, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Burlingame following investigation of an incident that occurred in Rome Borough in October 2013.

Michelle Lin Jones, 36, Trumbauersville, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Driving while Suspended for DUI and Driving while Suspended as a habitual Offender. Jones will be sentenced in July, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Kevin Hibson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Jones following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reports that the following persons were recently accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

John Winters, 22, New Albany, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of nine months. While on probation Winters will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Winters must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Winters for the offense on Dec. 3, 2014 in Terry Township.

Debra Spencer, 52, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Spencer will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Spencer must perform 40 hours of community service. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics unit arrested Spencer for the offense.

Amber Morgan, 19, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of six months. While on probation Morgan will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Morgan must perform 40 hours of community service. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Feb. 16, 2014 for the offense in Athens Township.

Mark Hartwick, 56, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Hartwick will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Hartwick must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Feb. 23, 2014 for the offense in Athens Township.

Betty Allen, 39, Athens, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Allen will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Allen must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; and he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department filed the charges on March 15, 2014 for the offense in Athens Borough.

Shauntel Place, 49, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of nine months. While on probation Place will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Place must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel; and she will also lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Travis Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on May 2, 2014 for the offense in Athens Township.

Amanda Talada, 36, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of nolo contendere/no contest to Firearm Ownership, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Talada will be sentenced on April 7, 2014, following preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. A no-contest plea is entered where the defendant cannot recall the event but will be held guilty and sentenced. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Talada for the offense on April 17, 2013.

Donald Roof, 52, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark, to the offense of, Theft, a misdemeanor of the third degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to a fine of $400.00 and court costs. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Roof for the offense on May 17, 2014, following investigation of a Theft that occurred in Towanda Township.

Donald Salsman, 79, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $250 and court costs. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Salsman for the offense on May 16, 2014, following investigation of a disorderly conduct that occurred in Sayre Borough.

Jason White, 22, entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession Small Amount of Marijuana, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 23 days and court costs. Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested White for the offense on June 1, 2014, following investigation of a possession of marijuana that occurred in Athens Borough.

Peter Venegas, 32, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Criminal Mischief, a summary offense and was sentenced to 30 days, restitution in the amount of $140 and court costs. Officer Cody Welch of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Venegas for the offense on June 9, 2014, following investigation of a criminal mischief that occurred in Athens Borough.

Stephen Bell, 21, Lockwood, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Small Amount of Marijuana, a misdemeanor and was sentenced to 15 days (suspended) and court costs. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Bell for the offense on May 12, 2014, following investigation of a Possession of Marijuana that occurred in Athens Township.

Ashley Tubbs, 31, Rome, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Disorderly Conduct, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $250, restitution in the amount of $25 and court costs. Officer Roger Clink of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Tubbs for the offense on June 4, 2014, following investigation of a disorderly conduct that occurred in Athens Township.

James Carr, 23, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to 13 days and court costs. Trooper Steve Steransky of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Carr for the offense on April 8, 2014, following investigation of an assault that occurred in Columbia Township.

Damien Kirkey, 23, Troy, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Use of Noxious Substance, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to 15 days and court costs. Trooper Frank Naughton of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kirkey for the offense on March 11, 2013, following investigation of use of a noxious substance that occurred in Ulster Township.

James Rosh, 36, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to a fine of $50, and court costs.
