Jeremy Boecker, 32, of Forksville has been charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment, following an incident at a residence on Main Street in Forksville, Sullivan County, police said.

During the incident, Boecker and a 19-year-old female victim engaged in a verbal dispute and a physical dispute, police said.

The victim, who is from Eagles Mere, suffered numerous bruises and two cuts to her body, police said.

Boecker also made threats that he was going to cause bodily harm to the victim, police said.

Boecker also damaged three pieces of property belonging to the victim during the incident, which occurred between 9 p.m. on Oct. 25 and 6 a.m. on Oct. 26, according to the state police at Laporte.

Boecker was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Vandine, and then released on $10,000 unsecured bail, police said. Boecker must attend a preliminary hearing on Wednesday before Vandine.

Theft occurs at Memorial Hospital

State police are trying to determine who entered a surgical locker room at Memorial Hospital in Towanda and stole items from a 63-year-old Sayre man's locker.

The stolen items were prescription expanded field surgical telescopes, police said.

The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 15 and Nov, 2, police said.
