DUI

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Nicholas James Fennell, 28, of Canton, by Canton police following an incident behind the Warrior Lounge at 2:39 a.m. May 18 on Troy Street in Canton, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy. Fennell is also charged with public drunkenness.

According to an affidavit, Canton Police Officer Trey Kurtz saw a Dodge Neon parked behind the lounge, just sitting idle with the headlights on. He saw the driver, later identified as Fennell, hunched over the gear shift, with his eyes closed and appearing to be passed out. Fennell's blood-alcohol content was .230 percent.

Wilcox said Fennell was sent a summons by certified mail. Fennell faces a preliminary hearing at 2:30 p.m. July 23 before Wilcox.

Kelly Ann Voorhees, 35, of Granville Summit, by Canton police following a traffic stop at 10:44 p.m. May 27 on Sullivan Drive in Canton.

Voorhees is also charged with careless driving and restriction on alcoholic beverages, according to court papers filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

Canton Police Officer Trey Kurtz said her vehicle crossed the yellow line and went into the opposing lane of traffic and then went slightly off the right side of the roadway. He made a traffic stop on Sullivan Drive, just before the D&H Market, and identified Voorhees as the driver. Kurtz said her blood-alcohol content was .329 percent at the time of her arrest.

Wilcox said Voorhees' ROR bail was set and posted. She faces a preliminary hearing before Wilcox at 2:15 p.m. July 2.

Mailboxes damaged

State police at Towanda said someone damaged the mailboxes of a 76-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. June 21 in the area of Mountain Avenue and Fallbrook Road in Armenia Township.

Burglary reported

A 38-year-old Columbia Township woman told state police at Towanda that someone entered her residence between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. June 21 on Christmas Lane in Columbia Township and took $30 in paper money and a prescription bottle of morphine.

Loitering reported

Jeremy Best, 42, of Troy, told state police at Mansfield that he saw an unknown person outside his residence at 2:54 a.m. June 15 in Ward Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Best told police the person fled in a full-size pickup truck, with a cap on the back.

ATV taken

State police at Towanda said someone entered property in the 1000 block of Shumway Road in Tuscarora Township between 10 p.m. June 12 and 10:16 a.m. June 13 and removed a blue 2004 Yamaha that was unsecured on the property.

Police said the vehicle was located near the back of the property, near a shed, and the keys were not left with the ATV.

False alarms made

State police at Towanda said Dandy Mini Mart in Burlington Borough caused multiple false alarms at 10:15 p.m. June 15 and was cited in District Court 42-3-03.

Currency taken

A 54-year-old Wyalusing woman told state police at Towanda that someone entered her parked, unsecured vehicle and removed U.S. currency sometime between noon and 5:30 p.m. May 21 on Twin Cuts Road in Herrick Township and fled in an unknown direction.

Mower stolen

A 59-year-old Troy woman told state police at Towanda that someone entered her garage between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. June 13 and stole a riding mower.

Woman reports being punched

State police at Towanda said they are investigating an incident that occurred at 7 a.m. June 12 on Glory Lane in Monroe Township in which a 25-year-old Monroeton woman reported that she was punched by Dustin Allen Westbrook, 29, of Monroeton during a domestic dispute.

Police said the case will proceed via summons, with charges filed in District Court 42-3-03.

Caterpillar damaged

A 54-year-old Dalton, Pa. man told state police at Towanda that someone damaged a Caterpillar between 10 a.m. June 11 and 7:30 a.m. June 12 on Ball Lane in Stevens Township by putting silver lithium grease on all handles and fittings.
