Debit card stolen in New Albany

Matthew and Stephanie Jenner, both of New Albany have been charged with theft relating to a May 12 incident in New Albany. According to police, Matthew and Stephanie stole a 27-year-old female's debit card and used it to make purchases at several stores.

Assault charges

Teresa Marie Hongach, 45, of Rome has recently been charged with harassment and simple assault relating to a Jan. 5 incident in Rome. According to police, Hongach struck a man, who lived with her at the time, in the back of the head with an unknown object. Hongach was remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 15 before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

DUI charge

Fred Arey, 38, of Wyalusing has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol relating to a Dec. 31 incident on State Route 6 in Wyalusing. According to police, Arey was also charged with speeding, failure to use a seat belt, careless driving, and failing to dim his high beams for an oncoming vehicle. Police said charges have been filed with the Magisterial District Court in Wysox.

Protection from abuse violation

James McKean, 27, of Wyalusing was recently charged with violating the conditions of a PFA order on Nov. 22 in Tuscarora Township. Police reported the victim to be a 22-year-old female, also from Wyalusing.

Investigation into theft ongoing

Police report that between the dates of Aug. 23 and Aug. 24 from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m., an unknown person removed cash and a debit/credit card from a victim at Leisure Lake Road in Stevens Township. According to police, the suspect is described as a white female in her mid-20s, blonde hair, and a thin build. Police also report that she was possibly wearing a bright red jacket with a thick white strip across the front. The debit/credit card that was stolen was ultimately used to make unauthorized purchases at the Tunkhannock Wal-Mart.
