Counterfeit money passed in Monroeton
State police at Towanda said they are investigating an incident in which counterfeit money was passed at the Dandy Mini Mart in Monroe Borough.
The incident occurred on Jan. 24, police said.
Vehicle overturns in Cherry Township
Donald H. Slotterback of Lopez suffered a minor injury in a recent motor vehicle accident that occurred as he was driving east on Rosenberry Hill Road in Cherry Township, police said.
The accident occurred at 5:16 p.m. Monday as Slotterback was driving a 1988 Ford F-800 on an uphill section of the road, spreading cinders, police said.
The vehicle lost traction on the icy roadway and slid backwards into a ditch on the north side of the roadway, and overturned onto its passenger side, police said.
Slotterback, 55, was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Towanda, state police at Laporte said.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage, and was towed from the scene, police said.
Slotterback was cited for a violation of the section of the state motor vehicle code that is titled "Driving on right side of roadway," police said.
Towanda police report on police activity in the borough:
On Jan. 23, Towanda police were called to the 600 block of Third Street in the borough due to a report of vehicle that had been intentionally damaged, Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Towanda Borough Police at (570) 265-2522.
James A. Yates, 36, of Towanda has been charged following an incident which occurred on North Main Street in Towanda on Jan. 22. Yates has been charged with the summary offense of harassment for punching two females, as well as the summary offense of criminal mischief for smashing a glass door.
James Gaitings, 46, of Towanda has been charged with the summary offense of harassment following an incident which occurred on Jan. 1 at North Main Street, Towanda. Gaitings is accused of shoving a female and having physical contact with another person.
Tamara J. Blakeman, 43, of Towanda has been cited for disorderly conduct for an incident which occurred on Jan. 20 at the Towanda Motel in Towanda. Blakeman was found by police urinating in the parking lot.
