Waverly man arrested
A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of harassment.
According to information from the sheriff's department, Dominic M.J. Allington, 19, was arrested Sept. 23 following a reported domestic incident at a Route 34 location. Allington was issued a ticket to appear in Town of Barton court Oct. 2.
Waverly police arrest man on warrant
A Van Etten, N.Y. man was recently arrested by Waverly village police on a bench warrant.
According to information from village police, Michael T. Irish, 43, was arrested Sept. 21 on an arrest warrant on two charges of writing checks with insufficient funds. Police said Irish is accused of knowingly writing bad checks to two village businesses, once in May 2011 and again in Jan. 2012.
Irish was arraigned in Village of Waverly court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
Rome man arrested
A Rome man was recently arrested by Waverly village police as a fugitive from justice.
According to village police information, Steven K. Stack, 31, was wanted by the Bradford County Sheriff's Department for failing to notify authorities of an address change as required of registered sex offenders. Police said Stack was also arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in Village of Waverly court for a previous charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Stack was arraigned in Village of Waverly court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $5,500 bail.
Elmira woman charged with making threats
An Elmira, N.Y. woman was recently arrested by Athens Township police on a charge of terroristic threats by threatening a crime of violence.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Brenda Rae Estep, 32, was also charged with public drunkenness.
Police said officers arrested Estep following reports of a woman running in and out of traffic Sept. 22 on Route 220. Estep, who police said was visibly intoxicated, threatened a law enforcement officer, according to police.
Estep was arraigned Sept. 27 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Estep's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9.
