Canton man accused of disorderly conduct
Jack Larue Shedden, 45, of Canton has been charged with disorderly conduct after he smoked synthetic marijuana (K2) and then ended up sleeping in the back seat of a 36-year-old female victim's vehicle, police said.
The incident occurred at 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 9 along Mills Lane in Towanda Township, police said.
Woman charged with theft
Shawnnah Marie Lynn Card, 21, of Alpine, N.Y., is accused of stealing money and prescription pills from a 43-year-old Towanda woman's purse at a Wendy's restaurant in Bradford County, police said.
Card has been charged with theft as a result of this incident, which occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on May 30, state police at Towanda said.
Standing Stone man cited for harassment
Joseph Leighton, 27, of Standing Stone Township has been cited for harassment after he pushed a 24-year-old Towanda woman from behind, causing her to fall and injure her right elbow, police said.
This incident occurred at 1:20 p.m. on Oct. 9 along River Road in Standing Stone Township, state police at Towanda said.
Mower stolen in Laporte Twp.
Someone recently stole a field/brush mower from the 600 block of Hunters Road in Laporte Township, Sullivan County, police said.
The mower belongs to a 62-year-old Muncy Valley man, police said.
The theft occurred sometime between 3 p.m. on Oct. 7 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 14, state police at Laporte said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at Laporte at (570) 946-4610. Anonymous tips can be given at 1-800-4-PATIPS, police said. People providing information leading to recovery and arrest may receive a cash reward, police said.
Alleged sexual assault occurs in Towanda Twp.
State police at Towanda said they are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, police said.
The alleged rape occurred on Sept. 22 in Towanda Township, police said.
The investigation into this case is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.
Towanda male arrested for shoplifting
Tyler Heath Hendershot, 20, of Towanda has been charged with retail theft after he shoplifted a men's folding wallet and two pairs of women's underwear from the JC Penney store in Wysox Township, police said.
The shoplifting incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 24, state police at Towanda said.
Burglary occurs in Cherry Twp.
A burglary has occurred at a residence along North Road in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, police said.
The residence is owned by Kevin E. White of Chester Springs, Pa., police said. The burglary occurred sometime between Sept. 14 and Oct. 12, state police said.

Towanda man accused of stealing TVs
Jonathan Butler, 34, of Towanda has been charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, and receiving stolen property, police said.
The charges were filed after Butler entered Donald Butler's home in Towanda and removed two flat-screen televisions, police said.
Jonathan Butler then allegedly sold one of the TVs to another individual, police said. Jonathan Butler did not have the privilege of entering Donald Butler's home at the time of the theft, police said.
Donald Butler told the police that Jonathan Butler did not have his permission to take the TVs, according to the Towanda police.
The theft occurred at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, police said.
Jonathan Butler was arraigned by Troy Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox on Oct. 11. Jonathan Butler was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Jonathan Butler is scheduled to attend a preliminary hearing today before Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark.
The Towanda police reported on police activity in the borough:
Matthew E. Claxton, 41, of Nacona, Texas has been charged with Public Drunkenness following a incident which took place on Sept. 29 on Elizabeth Street in Towanda. Claxton is accused of appearing in a public place manifestly under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
Mindy R. Burnett, 24, of Towanda has been charged with harassment. Burnett is accused repeatedly contacting another person by phone, as well computer after being asked to stop by the victim. The incident occurred on Oct. 1.
The Towanda Borough Police Department is investigating an incident which occurred on or about Sept. 8 at Cash Alley in Towanda, at which time the owner of a vehicle parked in the alley found her Volkswagon "Beetle" had been intentionally damaged.
