Batteries taken

State police at Towanda said someone removed two Deka batteries from a Talisman well pad sometime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sept. 4 on Ballard Hill Road in Columbia Township.

Fraud reported

State police at Towanda said a 46-year-old Granville Summit man reported fraudulent charges made on his debit card sometime between July 30 and Aug. 1 on Evans Road in Granville Township.

Police said an investigation continues.

DUI incident reported

State police at Mansfield said two people were arrested following a DUI incident at 1:37 a.m. Aug. 31 on State Route 15 North Bound in Lawrence Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said Randy Allan Herman, Jr., 20, of Laceyville, committed a traffic violation and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and charged through District Court 04-3-01, police said.

According to police, Tori Lynn Ackley, 18, of Towanda, was a passenger of the vehicle and was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for underage drinking.

DUI crash occurs

State police at Towanda said that Robert Coles, Jr., 42, of Granville Summit, operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and lost control, resulting in a crash at 6:50 p.m. Aug. 11 on State Route 514, east of Spencer Hill Road, in Granville Township.

Theft by deception reported

State police at Towanda said that Jason Kyle Vandermark, 31, of Tunkhannock obtained the prison-issued identification number of a 69-year-old man at the Bradford County Correctional Facility sometime between May 25 and July 9 in West Burlington Township, and used it to make numerous calls which charged the victim's prison account $442.66.

Man injured

State police at Towanda said that Derek M. Schanbacher, 34, of Roaring Branch, had a minor injury following a crash at 4:30 a.m. Sept. 12 on Agway Road in Canton Township.

Police said he was traveling north, left the road on the northbound berm, traveled down an embankment, struck a tree, and then struck a second tree head-on.

Police said he was charged with a violation of "driving on right side of roadway."

Waverly police make arrests

Waverly village police recently made the following arrests, according to information from the Waverly Police Department:

Scott Hurd, 40, of Barton, on a warrant out of the Waverly Police Department. Police charged Hurd with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, operating a vehicle without a rearview mirror and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Michael R. Steele, 23, of Waverly, for resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and harassment, following a disturbance call.

Matthew Schwartz, 30, of Waverly, for criminal obstruction of breathing, criminal trespass, petit larceny and harassment, following a domestic incident.

Jody Frutchey, 34, of Waverly, for criminal trespass, following a domestic disturbance.

Hanna Simonds, 39, of Waverly, for driving while under the influence and making an improper left turn, following a traffic stop.

Andrew J. Erickson, 26, of Chemung, N.Y., for driving while under the influence, following a traffic stop.

Dakota Relyea, 26, of Barton, for driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, uninsured operation of a motor vehicle and consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

Nelson W. Brown, 50, of Waverly, for driving while intoxicated, refusal of a roadside screening device, and not using a turn signal, following a traffic stop.

Adam J. Gladfelter, 31, of Waverly, for endangering the welfare of a child and harassment, following a domestic incident.
