Police Briefs 10/29/2013
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Chrystal Marie Rivera, 25, of Athens, by Athens Borough police, on Oct. 8, on South Main Street in Athens. Rivera has also been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to an unattended vehicle or property and careless driving. A blood alcohol test revealed Rivera's blood alcohol content to be .21 percent on the day of her arrest. Rivera has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 26 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Tammy Geiss, 32, of Sayre, by Athens Borough police, on Sept. 24, on Short Street in Athens. Geiss has also been charged with public drunkenness. A blood alcohol test revealed that Geiss' blood alcohol content was .22 percent on the day of her arrest. Geiss has been sent a summons to appear Nov. 26 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Man charged with fraud
A Rome man was recently charged with home improvement fraud by Athens Borough police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Anthony Krsyzckowski, 41, was also charged with deceptive or fraudulent business practices.
Police said Krsyzckowski received $4,750 in payment from a borough resident in April and has since failed to perform the work agreed upon. Police said Krsyzckowski misrepresented himself as a licensed contractor in the state of Pennsylvania.
Krsyzckowski was arraigned Oct. 24 and released from the Bradford County Jail on non-monetary bail. Krsyzckowski's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 19.
NC man trespasses in Dandy Mini Mart
Johnny Ray Graham, 44, of Vass, NC has been charged by state police with criminal trespass relating to a Oct. 7 and Oct. 11 incident at a Dandy Mini Mart on State Route 6 in Wysox Township.
According to police, Graham went to the store on two separate occasions after he was served with a letter stating he was not welcome on any properties operated by Dandy Mini Mart, Williams Oil Company or Williams Auto Plaza.
Graham has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on Nov. 26 for a preliminary hearing.
Suspicious man spotted at Alba bus stop
State police are investigating the report of a suspicious male that attempted to make contact with two girls, ages 10 and 11, as they were waiting at a school bus stop on State Route 14 in Alba Borough.
The suspect was driving a silver colored minivan and traveling northbound when he stopped next to the girls at 7 a.m. on Oct. 28, and began to exit the vehicle. One of the children started running back to her nearby house while yelling. The child's father heard the yells and stepped outside, at which time the suspect got back into the vehicle and drove away, heading north.
Smokers Choice in South Creek Twp. burglarized
On Oct. 26 at 5 a.m. an unknown person attempted a break in at the Smokers Choice store on State Route 14 in South Creek Township, police said.
