Towanda man accused of selling pot

Floyd W. Douglas II of Towanda is accused of selling marijuana from his residence on York Avenue, police said.

State police say that the 40-year-old Douglas sold one-ounce bags of marijuana from his home on three occasions in September and October of 2010.

Douglas has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal use of a cell phone, police said.

Douglas waived his preliminary hearing in Towanda District Court, which had been scheduled for Sept. 19. Therefore Douglas' case has been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where he is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 18.

Man accused of possession of drug paraphernalia in Franklin Twp.

Joshua Paul Huffman, 28, of Edmond, Okla., has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after he was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Southside Road in Franklin Township, police said.

A metal cigarette owned by Huffman, which was used to smoke marijuana and which tested positive for the presence of the drug, was recovered near the crash scene, police said.

Huffman also received several traffic citations related to the accident, which occurred at approximately 4:10 a.m. on May 12, according to the state police at Towanda.

He was also cited for accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property and for failure to immediately notify police of the accident.

Huffman's preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for Sept. 26 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to Oct. 24.

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Kenneth Dale Drury, 48, of Prague, Okla., by the state police, on July 14 on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township. A blood test revealed that Drury's blood alcohol content was .22 percent on the day of his arrest. Drury waived his preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for Sept. 18 in Towanda District Court. Drury's case has been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where he is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 15.

Mitchell N. Fili, 51, of Silver Springs, N.Y., by the state police, on July 30 on U.S. Route 6 in North Towanda Township. A blood test revealed that Fili's blood alcohol content was .13 percent on the day of his arrest. Fili's preliminary hearing in Towanda District Court, which was originally scheduled for Sept. 26, has been rescheduled to Oct. 31.

Shaine Wesly Huffman, 22, of Wyalusing, by the Towanda police, on Friday on York Avenue in Towanda. Huffman waived his preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for Oct. 3 in Towanda District Court. Huffman's case has been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where he is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 1.
